Do you think it is possible for recurring nightmares to be premonitions of things to come?

I use to have one about my Dad fighting vampires after they took over our house. I always thought it was **** till one day I came home from school and dad was fighting our neighbour who wasn't a vampire, but had really bad buck teeth, cause he had walked in our back door un invited.

I dont remember most of my dreams, and the ones I do remember, I always wake up before they end......Damnit.....
