Strikeforce has been obviously building these two up for this event, now it appears that it's on for march 29th. So you guys amped for this fight? I think it may be a bit soon for Cung Le, he is 5-0 against some pretty ****ty opposition, but he has shown an abundance of talent in his fights, particularly in the case of his striking, which may be the most technical and refined in MMA. How he'll fare against Frank's ground game is another question, but I think he'll be up for this challenge, even if it is perhaps too early for him to be at his very best. In any case, this should answer a lot of questions about Cung Le. What remains to be seen is how far he intends to go in MMA; whether he intends to go full bore with it or if he sees at as another mark on his resume to further advance his hollywood career, or conversely if he intends to just be the poster boy for Strike Force. I hope he steps it up to another venue and continues to take tough fights. He's a guy that could do much for the sport, given his crossover appeal to more traditional martial arts fans.

Cung Le's actually a good wrestler, his submission game is a mystery, but I doubt he's coming in unprepared. But yeah he might be in over his head here, Shamrock submission could easily be the result.

hes a good wrestler- but even in his last fight- he looked real uncomfotable being on the ground....frank shamrock is an elite fighter- its not going to mix well.......
im just hoping that frankie doesnt train for this fight (which is a huge possiblity) and gets pwned

Why do you say Frank may not train for this fight?
He is well known for coming into fights in great shape. Even when he had a legit knee injury training for the Baroni fight, he still came into that one in pretty good shape.

Cung Le's stand up is pretty good, but I don't know if he can handle Frank's ground game.

This fight kinda reminds me of Lesnar-Mir in that its an untested prospect going up against an MMA vet with excellent submission skills. The difference of course being that Lesnar is a great wrestler whereas Le is a great striker, but like Lesnar, Le is in against a submissions master in his first real MMA test. It should be an interesting fight.
