Tuggers1986 02-24-2008, 06:29 AM Everybody else has one so I want one for my team!
2-0 yesterday. Should have been 3-0 because Hesky's first half shot was clearly over the line.
14th in the league now.
Any of you punks think we'll be going down this season?????
PS.... Me pie I got at half time was bleedin gorgeous. Even if it did cost me £2.50
the giant one 02-24-2008, 06:32 AM you might go down. derby is guarenteed to be gone and reading has a god awful defense which i think will cause them to drop. its a battle between you and fulham to stay up IMO

Derby are down. Then I think it will be either Fulham, Reading or Sunderland to take the other 2 spots.
Two more wins this season and I'd say we are safe. If Newcastle carry on playing so bad there is a good chance they could be in the mix by the end of the season. They're only 2 points above Wigan.
Who do you follow mate?
the giant one 02-24-2008, 06:38 AM liverpool. i started watching them back when collymore and fowler led the attack. its been a depressing season for the most part
the giant one 02-24-2008, 06:39 AM is heskey healthy for you? if so that will help a lot in your relegation battle.
Tuggers1986 02-24-2008, 07:02 AM is heskey healthy for you? if so that will help a lot in your relegation battle.
Yeah. He was given the all clear a couple of days ago and played the full 90 minutes yesterday. Steve Bruce needs to play Sibierski and Koumas more for us. He only gives them both about 15-20 minutes a game.
As long as you secure 4th place and progress in the Champions League then I think Rafa's job will be safe. You just need more consistancy. You shouldn't be getting beat by teams like Barnesley and then beating world class teams like Inter the next week. it just doesn't make sense. You also need another top class striker to play up along Torres. Having him and Gerrard as your only constant threats isn't enough really.
the giant one 02-24-2008, 07:06 AM liverpool does need more attacking help. selling kuyt and possibly crouch in the summer to get a top class guy would be nice.i dont see the yank owners willing to pony up big cash again this year so i think its gonna be sell before buy at anfield. also if rafa didnt rotate so damn much, i think the team would gel better and play up to their abilities some more.

Ferguson, Wenger and Grant have all made more changes this season than Benitez. That's a fact. Like you said you need to get rid of Kuyt and Crouch and buy a top class striker. Most of the time you pretty much dominate teams for the full 90 minutes but you don't have any game winners playing for you that can seal the deal. In a team of 11 players you shouldn't have to rely on 2 players (Gerrard and Torres) to get your goals for you.

I'm confident we'll survive this season. Hopefully ol' meathead (Bruce) will buy some good players over the summer to strengthen the side. Im sick of being in the bottem 6 all season worrying about relegation. Id rather be comfortable 8th-12th or fighting for a UEFA Cup spot.

Good on you Tuggers, everyone should have one for theit team.
You won't go down this season and you'll be o.k.
Never had a pie from your ground, I've heard they are by far the best in the premiership and it's definately something I want to sample before I die.
Savino 02-28-2008, 08:19 AM I think Wigan will stay up but if they go down they won't be missed. Will the town of WIgan miss premiership football with it been a Rugby League town?
DURAN_IS_GOD 02-28-2008, 10:15 AM Wigan are a bag of wank, their stadium is half full and they are managed by that screaming skull Bruce. Why doesn't he play koumas??!! He's far and away your best player i think. If wigan went down nobody would care.... Tuggers you support a crap team mate, get yourself down villa park and watch a proper footballing outfit

With us being in the prem for 3 years now id say there's just as many football fans as there is rugby fans. We just need a bit of a stronger finish this year to get a few more wiganers to believe in us.

I agree. Koumas is the best player and only gets 10 minutes a game. Then there's Sibierski who is probably our biggest threat to opposition and he still only gets 10 minutes a game. And quite alot of the time he scores when he gets brought on but never gets started. It ****ing pisses me off.

ye i like sibierski and also scharner.... heskey is obviously a good player for you as well, but koumas is by far and away your most creative player. He's such a wasted talent its untrue, think he's 28 now as well. What do you make of bramble mate? its a shame for him really, cus any mistake he makes gets amplified 200 times more than any other player

The problem is with Bramble. He ****s up big time. Then just as we're forgetting it he ****s up again. Scharner is my fav player at the club. He's really consistant every week. And has scored 5 this season which aint bad for a defender

I believe Wigan RL average more than the football team? I also lead to believe they sold more season tickets for this season than the football team did?
Tuggers1986 03-01-2008, 12:03 PM Since we've been in the prem Man City have never beat us. Home or away.
BUT.
I think today is the day that all changes. Hopefully they will play the way they did against Everton last week and we'll win.
Tuggers1986 03-08-2008, 10:04 AM Wigan boss Steve Bruce has a fully fit squad available for Sunday's visit of Premier League leaders Arsenal.
Ryan Taylor (ribs) is fit again after a month out, while Kevin Kilbane has recovered from a bruised foot.
Robin van Persie could return for Arsenal after recovering from his injury problems.
Theo Walcott is out with a thigh injury while Abou Diaby suffered a calf complaint during the win over AC Milan and Emmanuel Eboue is still suspended.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Wigan (from): Kirkland, Melchiot, Scharner, Boyce, Edman, Valencia, Brown, Palacios, Koumas, Heskey, King, Sibierski, Pollitt, Bramble, Olembe, Bent, Taylor, Kilbane, Granqvist, Aghahowa, Skoko.
Arsenal (From): Almunia, Clichy, Senderos, Gallas, Sagna, Denilson, Fabregas, Flamini, Hleb, Adebayor, Bendtner, Gilberto, Van Persie, Toure, Lehmann, J Hoyte, Traore, Song.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
• Wigan boss Steve Bruce (on whether he would settle for a draw):
"We would take that now I am sure, especially after the performance that they produced at AC Milan in midweek.
"I was sitting watching and thinking it's as a good a performance as I have seen from a British team abroad.
"But that is the beauty of being in the Premier League - you get your moments against them."
• Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger:
"To be champions in England you have to go from Milan to Wigan and win the game.
"I like that because it is a completely different type of game. You have to find a response to what you face.
"It will be a big test - Wigan are playing not to go down. They are under pressure not to go down and I've heard that the pitch is not the Emirates."
BIG-MATCH FACTS
Champions League quarter-finalists Arsenal follow their sensational victory over European champions AC Milan at the San Siro with a trip to the JJB.
The Gunners defend their one point lead at the top of the Premier League table, and attempt to stretch the longest current unbeaten sequence in the top-flight to 13 games, having drawn the last two.
With two wins and a draw from their last four, Wigan have risen to their highest placing since the first week in October.
The Londoners have gained one more away league win than the Latics have secured on home turf; seven to six.
Arsene Wenger's side have not lost to a North-West club this season, and have won the last four.
Arsenal hold a 100% Premier League record over Wigan, having won all five meetings.
Athletic went to the Emirates Stadium in November on a seven-match losing streak, but it took Arsenal 83 minutes to break them down, before winning 2-0.

It's because the prem and super league matches are getting played on their so it's just getting ripped apart all the time. You'd think with the amount of money a prem team make they'd be able to sort it out though. Yeah I dont think you played very well at all. There was about 10 minutes around the 65th - 75th minute where I thought Wigan might even snatch a winner.
-CANE- 03-10-2008, 10:09 AM Congrats to Wigan. Lets wait for the excuses from the Goons.

They're blaming the pitch already. I admit it was **** but I still think we defended very well yesterday.
Fabregas is a right little *****. Holding his face as if he'd been nutted even though Heskey barely brushed past him.

Yeah I'm over the moon with the performance, everybody gave 110%. It's just a shame we couldn't salvage a point out of it. All of that hard work was for **** all now.
We should have had a penalty aswell. Just seen a replay of Petr Cech pushing Zaki over during a corner. Dodgy Czech cunt!!

Tuggers1986 09-13-2008, 07:12 AM Wigan v Sunderland
Wigan take on Sunderland at the JJB Stadium as they return to Premier League action on Saturday.
Both clubs managed to beat the drop last season but their early form this campaign has not been the best.
Last time out Wigan enjoyed a 5-0 victory over newly-promoted Hull, but had been on the receiving end of two defeats previously, leaving them 13th in the table.
Boss Steve Bruce is set to add to his squad this week with the Latics poised to sign goalkeeper Richard Kingson, and the manager may also receive another boost.
Paul Scharner is hoping to be fit for the clash after enduring an injury-hit few weeks. He featured in two games for Austria in the past week and is on the road to recovery.
Meanwhile, Jason Koumas is undergoing intensive treatment on an ankle injury in the hope of making the side.
Team mates
Sunderland boss Roy Keane will be up against his former Manchester United team-mate Bruce when they make the trip.
But there will not be any old pals act on show once the game starts as the Black Cats look to earn some needed points.
They lost 3-0 to Manchester City in their last game and have only managed to claim three points so far this season in their victory over Tottenham, which has left them in 18th spot in the table.
Sunderland lost 3-0 at Wigan last season in what was one of their worst performances and it remains fresh in Keane's mind.
Skipper Dean Whitehead is likely to be ruled out with a hip injury, although he is expected to return to training on Friday.
Anton Ferdinand could make his debut after coming through a reserve fixture in midweek. Teemu Tainio and Dwight Yorke are also expected to be in the squad.
Possible starting XIs
Wigan: Kirkland, Melchiot, Boyce, Bramble, Figueroa, Valencia, Cattermole, Palacios, Kilbane, Heskey, Zaki.
Sunderland: Gordon, Bardsley, Ferdinand, Collins, Chimbonda, Malbranque, Leadbitter, Reid, Richardson, Cisse, Diouf.

How about same odds, but Newcastle have to win by 2 or more goals?

On a different note, Titus Bramble makes me laugh as he is a Joke.

Unfortunately not. I'm working. I've not been to a game this season yet. I keep getting put in work whenever they're playing. We've got two home games after Tottenham and then Liverpool away so I think i'll be going to all three of them. If Bruce plays Bramble again I'm gonna hunt him down at the JJB and twat him. If you look at his past record he's done FAR more harm than good. He needs to be dropped.

Bramble is a liability. Who would replace him?
Bruce has done really well for you guys, Zaki, Valencia, Heskey & Palacios will cause us problems this Sunday. I'm going to this game and I'd imagine the atmosphere will be really tense. We were shaky last night to say the least.

Yeah he has done absolute wonders for us. We defend 10x better now than before he came, and now we have Palacios and Valencia who are good at going forward and Zaki who can't miss at the minute I think this will be our best season yet.
As for Bramble, he should be dropped now Scharner's fit. We should play Melchiot, Boyce, Scharner & Figueroa. It should be a good game on Sunday. Tottenham are a better team than us but with you not playing well at the minute I reckon it could be close. I think it will either be a draw or you guys will nick a winner around the 80th minute.

I expect a draw, I expect us to be outfought in midfield as Palacios has been immense so far (apparently). If we start with Dawson I think we'll definitely get beat, Dawson has the potential to be as bad as Bramble. As long as Ramos doesn't have a brainfart with team selection I guess we could get a win but I wouldn't bank on it.
Should be an entertaining game nonetheless, definitely be goals!

Yeah. The way you've been playing I wouldn't be surprised if we win, but then again it only takes one game for you lot to play to your full potential and get back to winning ways, and this could be it.
Wigan are 9/2 to win. Absolutely massive price IMO.
-CANE- 09-19-2008, 10:04 AM Zaki to get the winner.

not a bad bet there mate.
I think we'll pick up, the games are coming thick and fast now so from that point of view it's good that we can bounce back within days. If we can replicate our performance against Chelsea then I think we should win on Sunday.

I don't know if you seen the game but Wigan deserved atleast a point against Chelsea. They never looked like scoring and we were pressing for 25 minutes towards the end. We just couldn't finish so it turned out Deco's 3 minute free kick got them the points.
Bastards.
Don Gorgon 09-19-2008, 10:33 AM typical Chelsea!
