View Full Version : £10 smoking licence - They can **** right OFF
-CANE- 02-18-2008, 04:39 AM I've never heard anything so stupid in all my life. Well I have but not for a week especially where this ****ing government is concerned.
How many more ways will they think off to drain us of all our hard earned money.
£10 for a smoking licence they can stick that up there Arse.
Apparently anyone not holding a licence will not be able to purchase cigerettes, that's fine by me as they are nearly £6 a packet anyway.
I'll just do what many already do and buy them off someone that does a tobacco and booze run.
****ING CORRUPT CUNTING CUNTS the lot of them.
I quit last year so this is a great idea. :D
Really, it is a piss take. If they want to ban smoking just ban, it don't **** around. Although we all know that will never happen, because there is just too much money in it. Think about it, how many people smoke 20-40 smokes a day?
That's £12+ a day x that by...what 200-300 million and that's a whole lot on money per day.
If smoking is THAT BAD and courses CANCER why wasn't banned *click* just like that? Doesn't make any sense to me. If you want to look at facts, I bet cars and other things kill many more people than smoking does.
The Noose 02-18-2008, 05:58 AM I think it bollocks.
I dont understand the point. Is it like a driving licence where u have to take lessons and a test. U get tested on lighting up and the fine art of flicking ash, stubbing ur fa.gs out in ur empty glass of beer, and coughing ur ****ing guts out in the morning.
DURAN_IS_GOD 02-18-2008, 06:01 AM im guessing they've brought it in to stop under-age people buying fags, but we all know its just another stealth tax
at the end of the day people are gonna smoke, whether they are 14, 16 or 87. it should all just be legalised and let people make their own mistakes and decisions in life
Sane Man 02-18-2008, 06:49 AM I don't smoke anymore so it doesn't matter to me
But I did have a good laugh when I read it
Main point of it is to make people think it's too much hassle to smoke and then they give up. But it's not illegal to smoke and if people want to smoke ****ing let them, it's their life.
****ing goverment trying to force you out of doing something that your well within your rights to do. If they want to stop people smoking make it illegal, but we all know they won't do that, cos the greedy cunts are making too much money from it.
we all know they won't do that, cos the greedy cunts are making too much money from it.Exactly, when I first started smoking I could buy a pack of ten and a ice cream and still have some pennies to spare.

because when tobacco was first introduced it was very fashionable amongst the wealthy no no-one knew **** all about what inhaling that **** did to you.
even in the 1930s and 40s some doctors were recommending smoking as a way of "clearing the lungs" :la:
by the time the medical profession realised how ****ing dangerous it was, the tobacco companies were way too rich and powerful and the habit had become second nature making it impossible to ban.
btw...its a great idea. pay for someone to clear up the stubs from outside every workplace in the country.
i think they should introduce licence fees for chewing gum next! :cop:

If the ****tard government hadnt interfered in the first place there would be no *** ends outside workplaces.
I like the way the government seem to find a way to charge you for doing everything. The tax on fags is rediculous anyway. The price of the actual ciggarettes hasnt really changed that much, but Labour keep adding more and more tax on the ****. I started smoking about 3 years ago now and with £2.50 I could buy 10 Lambert and Butler and a lighter to smoke them with. These days if I can get a pack for less than £2.65 I'm a lucky little cunt. Now they want to start taxing us before we even buy the ****ing things. The smoking ban was bad enough, but now it is bordering on rediculous. :nonono:

To be honest I don't think smoking is a bad as they say, it's just another way for the government to make money. It's not like alcohol, which makes people completely out of their head and kill people.

oh i agree there. its not bad in the same way as alcohol / drugs. just on your own and others health. i smoked for 12 years before quitting and started feeling ****ing great about 4 weeks after stopping - and coughing up all the **** that had coated my lungs.
but it is a nice little earner for the govt. tax the **** out of something which everyone agrees is bad for you, but can't feasibly be banned, and no one will stop buying just because of the price going up. easy money.
Welter_Skelter 02-19-2008, 09:56 PM Cash Grab.. nothing more.. at the present rate...one pay day soon.. you will be in debt and Not able to cover your taxes.. :lol1:
