what I often do is thank them for working there etc.
Dear sir/madam,
I hereby resign my position at (company name) as of (date).
I would like to thank you for a pleasant time here and hope I can use this company as a refference for future jobs I might have.
Regards,
(your name)
That's a good idea. Not exactly what I want to say, but I'll try and leave on a positive note.

Good advice from RTB, despite your true feelings I wouldn't burn the bridge.
Do not burn bridges if you do not have to

I agree to further seal the general consensus. My road behind has only positive reviews. I suggest you use the same.

I agree with what everyone has said, burning bridges is a bad thing.
Unless you already have your new job. In that case, give 'em hell
