View Full Version : top 5 P4P in MMA? Savino 02-16-2008, 10:56 AM Who are your top 5 MMA p4p fighters now? sorry if this thread been done before TBEC2 02-16-2008, 11:26 AM Yea its been done before but its always fun so.. 5:Urijah Faber 4:Fedor/ Couture 3:Bj Penn 2:GSP 1:Anderson Silva kaps 02-16-2008, 01:00 PM In no Particular order Fedor Dan Henderson Anderson Silva George St. Pierre BJ Penn Savino 02-16-2008, 02:24 PM In no Particular order Fedor Dan Henderson Anderson Silva George St. Pierre BJ Penn yeah that is my list too. In order I would go with; 1. Silva 2. GSP 3. Henderson 4. BJ Penn 5. Fedor suberstar_zx6R 02-16-2008, 03:06 PM surprised no one has rampage on there list. Dice 02-16-2008, 03:31 PM In My Opinion 1. Fedor 2. Frank Shamrock 3. Anderson Silva 4. BJ Penn 5. Royce Gracie gandhalf 02-17-2008, 01:51 PM Who are your top 5 MMA p4p fighters now? sorry if this thread been done before Fedor is the goat of this sport....that's all you need to know... today's p4p... hard to tell , maybe Kid yamamoto , Henderson , Anderson Silva , Nogueira , GSP gandhalf 02-17-2008, 01:55 PM surprised no one has rampage on there list. rampage is top 3 material but not p4p. right now , he's ranked #1 LHW though.. Brian13 02-17-2008, 04:16 PM 1. Anderson Silva 2. Rampage 3. Fedor 4. Gsp 5. B.J Penn Nodogoshi 02-17-2008, 05:06 PM 5. B.J. Penn- Could be the most talented of the 5, just hasn't put all the pieces together. 4. Kid Yamamoto- This dude's got granite in his gloves, and he's also a top notch wrestler as well. And he's never been beaten (his one loss was from a cut, early in his career). Yamamoto KOs Faber imo. 3. Dan Henderson- Perhaps the most decorated fighter in MMA. He's getting up there in age, but he seems to have some juice left in him. I think he has the tools to knock off Silva. 2. Fedor Emelianenko- He's caught some flack lately for his lack of comp., but he still has the talent/resume to be top 2 imo. 1. Anderson Silva- Silva is a beast and he's earned his spot at the top. Still, I think there's a serious chance that Hendo knocks him off soon. Nodogoshi 02-17-2008, 05:13 PM 5. B.J. Penn- Could be the most talented of the 5, just hasn't put all the pieces together. 4. Sure, he lost to unranked Serra, but I don't believe that should knock him down. Starting with Frank Trigg, GSP defeated 4 top 5 welterweights in a row. Nobody could match that currently. He got dropped by Serra, but he came back and dominated 2 top 5 welterweights in a row. #2 Anderson Silva: Guy is probably the most talented MMA fighter today. Incredibly well rounded. The way he has put away his opponents is mesmerizing. People may say: "oh, but Rich Franklin is overrated". I say, bull****. Even though Rich had a long lay off, Rich beat 2 top 10 legit middleweights in David Louiseau and Evan Tanner. Rich lost to Anderson and went on to beat top 10 Yushin Okami. Rich is a big win. Lets not forget Anderson's cut through of Nate Marquardt. Anderson has a BIG test infront of him with Dan Henderson, and with Dan Henderson bringing in training partners like Darrel Gholar and Cyrille Diabate, Anderson has got to be training hard. #3 Fedor Emelianenko: Fedor is undoubtedly the #1 heavyweight, but his inactivity and lack of competition for the past 3 years is despicable. Still, his dominate wins over Nogueira can not be looked over, and those give him a high ranking pound for pound. #4 Quinton "Rampage" Jackson Talk of Quinton being a lesser fighter was rampant before his signing with the UFC. People look at his fight with Lindland (which I thought he clearly won) and with Marvin Eastman and say that he was changed fighter, that he lost his aggresiveness. Of course, all those criticisms were blown of the water with his first round KO of Chuck Liddell and close but decisive victory over Dan Henderson. #5 BJ Penn: BJ Penn is my favorite fighter, arguably the most skilled in all MMA. His main flaw comes from his conditioning, which I would dispute. Independent doctors proved that BJ DID have a self-inflicted injury against Matt Hughes the second go around. Other than that, the only fights he has gassed in were his bouts with GSP (after coming off a lay off) and Jens Pulver (early in his career and his first fight to go past 1 round). Other than that, he has had non stop action wars with Serra, Uno, Gomi, both Gracies, and Machida. Typically people would place BJ as #1 either in LW or P4P, but we have to be realistic. His last top ten win was against Joe Stevenson (a good win). His dominant victory has to be noted, and with his record it is hard to place him any lower or higher. Liaison 02-18-2008, 11:26 PM Top 10 instead... 1. Fedor Emelianenko 2. Anderson Silva 3. Quinton Jackson 4. Gilbert Melendez 5. GSP 6. Lyoto Machida 7. Kid Yamamoto 8. Gesias Calvancanti 9. Paulo Filho 10. BJ Penn Palma 02-19-2008, 03:01 PM 1. Fedor E. (H) 2. Rampage (LH) 3. Anderson S. (MW) 4. GSP (W) 5. BJ penn (L) 6. Urijah F. (F) These are my picks for best in the world of MMA. For best 5 P4P it will be everyone on the list minus Urijah! |
