View Full Version : Fook me!!!
BennyST 02-13-2008, 10:22 PM Ok, I just saw the full Amonsot/Katsidis fight for the first time. God damn, finally another Aussie fighter worth watching. I had seen long highlight reels but not the entire fight.
What a crazy bastard! Even though I knew the outcome, I was still on the edge of my seat thinking 'How is he going to get through this?'. After the fifth round I was even thinking 'C,mon! You're losing it! Go nuts!!!'. What a little warrior. Now, I shall be making sure to get every one of his fights live.
I don't even know why I didn't get around to seeing it earlier. I had known he was a very exciting fighter after watching his earlier fights and especially after hearing what a great fight this was...Wish I'd gotten onto it sooner when everyone else was still excited about it as well.
One thing though: Next time he is in that situation the god damn corner has to let the cut-man go to work with no hassles and the proper space. Jimmy Strickland could have had those cuts under much better condition but the corner-man kept sitting where Strickland should have been. It really impeded the possibility of him being able to do his job to the best advantage. That was very frustrating. They also ran the possibility of it getting stopped by TKO for not letting him go to work with the space he needed.
Now, I just hope Casamayor is falling apart because if that was a one fight slump and he comes back in form he could out-box Katsidis. I doubt Michael will stop him but he had better stay on him and start stretching and strengthening his neck for better head movement! If he can stay on him with good pressure he should be able to get it...Casamayor also doesn't have the power of Amonsot which should help with any facial damage problems.

haha good read. the same sort of reaction from me every time i watch it.. exciting exciting stuff.
i think we'll get a very early indication of how the fight will go by the way casamayor starts.. he built his career as a boxer puncher, a fighter, but ive got to wonder if he'll have the confidence to 'fight' with katsidis after his last disappointing outing. if he tries to stay on his feet itll be a long night for him.. if he comes to put katsidis away.. well that's his best shot in my opinion
katsidis is a WARRIOR if he fights in australia again i will be there.
raabd 02-13-2008, 11:01 PM Katsidis is great man. He will punish Casamayor. I plan on watching the fight live at casino morongo.

Yes, absolutely. I think we will see the outcome of the fight within three rounds. If Casamayor comes in banging, well, I think he may have a chance but he would probably have more of a chance by boxing. We saw Katsidis get out-boxed by Amonsot in a few rounds and that would be the best strategy, I would think, for Casamayor.
Hopefully, he comes in fighting as that will obviously suit Katsidis more than any other fight and we should see a great one because Casamayor is a tough guy.
This will be a big test for Katsidis as Casamayor knows all the tricks from his experience with some great champions of the past few years and will be able to change up his tactics more than Katsidis will be able to. It will give him the experience he needs against a tough, long time champion who fought many great fights and many great champs. Hopefully he's learned from his last fight to move his god damn head more!
Can't wait for this one! Could be the next Fenech. Hopefully it will get Aussies more interested in boxing again, as in the heyday of Fenechs time. He will be around for quite a while as well I think.
infestacide 02-18-2008, 07:02 AM it was definately a fan friendly fight, if kat tightens up a little he could definately take it to the next level.

Yep. An improved defence, and Katsidis is at that next level. I think he can do it, hopefully he destroys Casamayor. I think he will.
mgkirkpatrick 02-18-2008, 09:02 AM after the amonsot fight alot of people were saying katsidis was too limited and predictable.. i think he had real trouble with amonsot mainly because he was a southpaw.. the old adage that the best way to beat a southpaw is with a straight right must have been drilled into him and that's all he threw.. i think when he brings his full arsenal.. he's going to go up another gear and people are going to realise he's more than just a banger.. he's a guy who has decent fundamentals and the whole array of power shots..
i cant ****ing wait!

I know? I kept putting it off time after time until finally saw it on a thread and just picked it up. Damn it, I wish I had done it earlier. I had seen his fights with Earl, Mosquera and Ganoy which were all good but nothing compared with the Amonsot fight.
I think the Casamayor fight is scheduled on the 22nd of the 3rd to answer your question Radical Rat.
