View Full Version : Good Luck In The UEFA Cup...
Mozza 02-13-2008, 01:54 PM ...to Rangers, Tottenham, Everton, Bolton and Aberdeen.
Rangers host Greek leaders Panathinaikos at Ibrox tonight while Everton travel to play Norwegian champions SK Brann.
Tomorrow, Tottenham travel to the Czech Republic to play Slavia Prague, who finished third in Champions League group H behind Arsenal, while Aberdeen and Bolton host Bayern Munich and Atletico Madrid.
Everton and Tottenham should progress without too much difficulty. Rangers chances will depend on whether they can carry a lead over to the second leg in Greece. Bolton will struggle against an Atletico Madrid side who currently occupy fourth place in La Liga. The less said about Aberdeen's chances against Bayern the better.
MickyHatton 02-13-2008, 02:00 PM I'll second that!
Rocky Katsidis 02-13-2008, 02:11 PM Good luck to them all apart from rangers, hope rangers get ****ed:banana:
Addition 02-13-2008, 02:25 PM Yeah, good luck. I reckon Spurs and Everton will progress to the latter stages and have a good chance of winning.
-CANE- 02-13-2008, 04:40 PM Cheers Mozza best of luck to Rangers and everyone else as well.
MickyHatton 02-14-2008, 05:42 AM Great result for Everton, should see them through.
Rangers still have an excellent shot with the away goal option.
Don Gorgon 02-14-2008, 06:54 AM I'm quietly confident we (Spurs) can get to the final or even win provided we avoid Munich! If the draw is kinder to us than it was last year I think we have a very good chance.
Good luck to all the other Brit sides, feel sorry for Aberdeen though!
Mozza 02-14-2008, 10:41 AM Excellent result for Everton last night, they must be in with a chance of winning this competition. A 0-0 draw is a decent result for Rangers but disappointing as we had enough chances to win the game. Panathinaikos didn't seem to have much in the way of cutting edge and I'm pretty confident of getting an away goal in Athens next Thursday.
Good luck Spurs.

Don Gorgon 02-21-2008, 09:29 AM just thought i'd bump this thread.
Good luck to all the British teams competing.
I'm hoping we do enough to get the result as Sunday's game against Chelsea is massive.
striker999 02-21-2008, 09:42 AM Everton have the best chance of winning out the british sides, they look great this year and have taken european games in their stride winning there last seven in a row. Com eon the toffees!
fasman 02-21-2008, 04:09 PM With the squad that spurs have, i would not be surprised at all if they go all the way and win the final with ease.....
MickyHatton 02-21-2008, 05:55 PM Great night for the British clubs overall (Aberdeen apart)
Congrats.
Everton smashed 6 in and I didn't fancy Bolton against Athletico Madrid but....
Does this show the strength of British club football? We have 5 still active in the CL and 4 in the UEFA Cup.
Don Gorgon 02-21-2008, 06:32 PM It shows we have strength, but part of me can't help but think the format (UEFA cup) favours the bigger leagues. I really hate the group stages of the UEFA Cup and the CL teams coming into the knockout stages.
I'm happy we're still in with a shout, we had one eye on Sunday's game and it showed tonight.

Everton have a good chance of winning the tournament but there are no easy games from here on in.
