Ukr_Alex 02-12-2008, 06:30 PM during and before Id say. Salt and sugar (what you get in those drinks) get absorbed into the blood very quickly. kenny91 02-12-2008, 06:43 PM i usually eat a protein and starch filled dinner before i head off out to the gym like chicken, potatoes and veg. then i only drink lucozade/powerade a 2-4 times times whilst im there during and after (after to restore energy and let ur muscles recover) P4PKING_2008 02-12-2008, 06:45 PM I have a lucozade before and one for training. Then just a juice drink for after when waiting for the bus or whatever. Too many too often wouldn't give your body as an effective boost. dfwtx 02-12-2008, 07:13 PM anything with electrolytes 30 minutes before and during your workout ExecutiveOutlaw 02-12-2008, 07:29 PM what the hell is lucozade? anyway you should have at least a cup of the fluid before your workout, and during you should take small sips Mozza 02-12-2008, 08:45 PM what the hell is lucozade? anyway you should have at least a cup of the fluid before your workout, and during you should take small sips Lucozade is a popular UK energy drink. It has been around for years so is more popular and readily available than the other brands. fraidycat 02-12-2008, 09:12 PM Lose that ****. Gatorade and Powerade both have high fructose corn syrup. It takes ten minutes of hard crunches or a thousand reps of skipping rope to burn off the calories in one bottle of that garbage. Drink water. Detroit101 02-12-2008, 11:11 PM Fraidycat is right....all these drinks have high amounts of corn syrup...they are good for electrolyte and glyocogen replacement but that is it......they would be beneficial in small quantity as a post workout drink.... Salty 02-13-2008, 07:14 AM They say on the bottle 250 ml per 15 mins of strenuous exercise TexasTitan 02-13-2008, 08:54 AM You guys should look into something called Vitalyte (or in the past, ****inaid). Its pure electrolyte replacement on the level of pedialyte. None of that HFCS crap. I think it was originally designed for marathon runners and mountain climbers. DutchDynamite 02-13-2008, 11:47 AM Gatorade and that other sugar loaded crap drink are NO GOOD. Dump them kenny91 02-13-2008, 11:55 AM water doesnt help muscle repair. just rehydrates ya. creatine shakes are better than energy drinks like Lucozade/powerade/Gatorade - them drinks are best for football or soccer or something. cos with soccer your repairing your muscles and restoring energy but you also burn off the calories you just put on.
