He has one of the most respected albums in the game to his name,. Illmatic is almost universally credited as being one of the 5 best albums of all time. Number one on a lot of lists. Fom people down south, east west, where ever. And in my opinion, he has TWO albums better than that one, aswell.

Wayne is nice. Good songs, a couple of great ones. But does he have UNIVERSALLY considered classic ALBUMS to his name? Classic songs, universally? No, not yet. He's young, he's got a shot. There's no way I could listen to Carter 2 with out skipping. A few tracks are just not up to par. He sounds to similar on every single track for me not to get bored

Exactly. Matter of fact, if you live near someone you should expect MORE of them then the average artist. They are essentially representing your hometown, you should hope they go above and beyond. And if they don't.. don't just pat them on the head and say, atleast you tried.

Scarface is definately a great not only in Southern Hip Hop but Hip Hop in general. Probably no point in comparing him to Nas in the end. They are too different. Face is more straightforward but still real heavy while Nas is more abstract but they both have their appeal.

The best active rapper alive is Nas imo followed by Jay Z then Lupe. The Wu-Tang members are still active but I would put them in an "Of All Time" type of lists, although I still enjoy there new stuff I find myself listening to their old albums way more.
