I just been on a forum where some Weezy fans couldn't stop talking bull**** about how "amazing" the 'show me what you got' remix is.

I personally just can't see what they're talking about. I must be missing something because I just do not see why people think Wayne is so amazing. He's not bad but I could easily name 20+ better emcees than him.

anyway, back to the point.I found a track that sounds similar (haha) to the 'show me what you got' remix but ****s ALL OVER IT.

Thats right....the original!!

I aint really a big Jigga fan but he's a better emcee than Wayne in every single aspect of the game. All you southern dick riding *****es need to RECOGNISE!!!

WAYNE IS NO WHERE NEAR THE "BEST RAPPER ALIVE"

The souths reign is OVER!

In my opinion there is only 3 rappers people even know of when they're on the outside looking in. Sorta like how people know **** about boxing know of Ali.

these three happen to be Jay-Z, West, and Lil Wayne.

I say this because Lil Wayne has this ego/flaire about him that makes people like him. Down here, people like him because it's the cool thing rather than listening to his lyrics and I guess some people think he is good looking or something. Honestly, a lot of people could pick Lil Wayne out of a crowd of rappers before they could Fiasco or a couple of theres..but he's gotta be standing in the front since he is so ****ing short.

I'm an avid listener of southern rap so he's what I like..

sorry.

Wayne, I like him when I listen cause he has a good swagger about him, but I mean, he's not the best rapper alive, and never will be. Lil Wayne is a rapper you listen to while you're gettin high with your buddies or just chillin somewhere, kind of how you only listen to Soulja Boy while you're dancing with chicks and trying to mack.

Anybody who truly believes that Lil Wayne is the best rapper alive or an all-time great should have to go 12 rounds with Edison Miranda.

Wayne is the kind of rapper that blows up really big but once his time is up, has nowhere to go but down. A rapper like Lupe can sell records for as long as he wants to. Some of the South still dosen't get that impact is not measured by how big you are at the moment in the heat of a trend.

That's just the rap game period noone is on top forever, just ask Master P or 50 Cent, and to me honestly Jay-Z is the one who is overhyped, I don't see very much talent in this guy. Only reason he still around is cause he from the East Coast, this dude be like 40 years old acting like he still a hustler? He don't even listen to the same genre of music he makes....To Me It's **** JAY-Z, he ain't never been anything worth listening to, IMO!!!! Master P use to take alot of heat for rapping bout selling drugs after he made millions and got old but when Jay does it he is so COOL, LMAO!!!!

So, by that standard, if he claims that he is the second coming of Jesus, as long as no one steps up to dispute that, you'll agree to it?

You have to prove things with me. It's probably why I'm an atheist. Because I like proof, I'm not TOLD what to think, I think for myself. He hasn't proven he's the best, so I don't call him that ****. Evidence, it's a key to life.

T.I. can make the claim of king, because he's one of the top sellers down south AND he's one of the more lyrical (check Trap Muzik for proof of that). He's better than Wayne in my opinion. That title of King has more merit than Wayne's title of the best since he's done NOTHING classic to prove it.

None of Wayne's songs, ten or 20 years from now, up to this point, will spark the type of memories that classic joints do, for the majority of rap fans. People wont be like.. "OHHHH, I remember where I was when Fireman first came out." Good song, but it's not THAT kind of song. I'm sure even most WAYNE FANS would attest to that.

Nas, has those songs. Maybe not for you, but for more fans then Wayne. I've seen white girls on SOHH.com singing along to "If I Ruled The World". CLASSIC ****. Lupe Fiasco has that kind of following. He's played on ESPN, ABC, sold decent albums, without having to give away ANY of his creative integrity and owned his OWN label, instead of going to Rocafella Records, who wanted him. Wayne actually wanted an offer from Rocafella, and never got one. That says something about them, lyrically.

Wayne, VERY GOOD rapper. But, proof.. it does WONDERS for someones credability. Without it, you're just talking.

NOTE: About the Wayne not getting the offer thing (which actually started the near-beef with him and Jay-Z) I lost the article. Though, if you look hard enough, I'm sure you can find it. I believe I read it in a XXL article. If you'd like to ignore that comment, fine. Everything else, rings true.

In a recent interview with XXL Lil' Wayne was asked about how we went from being the best rapper alive since Jay-Z retired to being flat out better than Jay. Surprisingly enough, Weezy offered an apology to Jay for his comments;

"I’m glad you brought that up, ’cause I wanna apologize to Jay and his family and friends, because I was asked that question and they put it in there like I was just feeling like, “Oh, you know what, *****? I’m better than Jay!” They came at me like, “So you say you’re the best. Can you say that you’re better than everybody? Would you say you’re better than Jay?” I was like, “Yeah, *****, I’m better than everybody!” But I’d like to throw that apology out there ’cause of whatever trouble I caused, I ain’t want that to happen."
That is nice of him to man up and apologize, but if you remember, his original statement about being better than Jigga wasn't all that casual and just "thrown out there." This is what Wayne said in the interview with Travis Barker in December when he was asked about Jay.
"I'm better than him, I'm 24 years old. ... I'm 13 years deep with five albums and 10 million records sold. I don't like what he's saying about how he had to come back because hip-hop's dead and we need him...What the f--- do you mean? If anything it's reborn, so he's probably having a problem with that. You left on a good note, and all of the artists were saying, 'Yo, this is Jay's house. He's the best.' Now he comes back and still thinks it's his house. ... It's not your house anymore, and I'm better than you."
Also don't forget that after that made headlines Wayne called into Hot97 to add “I want people to just look at it like that dude who came out of college that was supposed to get drafted by the #1 team, which was Roc-A-Fella/Def Jam … They passed on me and now I’m with a good team and a good coach and of course on every interview I’m gonna cut down the team that didn’t pick me.”

Lupe Fiasco passed on a deal with Rocafella. Wayne, got passed up.

I found the article.

ROSEWOOD, that's not PROOF. I asked for PROOF, not opinion. Hot Boys songs don't count. Juve and Turk and B.G. would get JUST as much credit for those songs. Juve was a better rapper then Wayne was at the time, anyway.

Nonetheless, I stated opinion aswell, I'll admit. But I had facts on my side. I also have numbers on my side. Nas only has ETHER to talk about?

He has one of the most respected albums in the game to his name,. Illmatic is almost universally credited as being one of the 5 best albums of all time. Number one on a lot of lists. Fom people down south, east west, where ever. And in my opinion, he has TWO albums better than that one, aswell.

Countless others.. The bold songs will go down as CLASSIC songs, universally, not just in a region or by a relatively small group of younger fans. UNIVERSALLY.

Wayne is nice. Good songs, a couple of great ones. But does he have UNIVERSALLY considered classic ALBUMS to his name? Classic songs, universally? No, not yet. He's young, he's got a shot. He has plenty to talk about on his new album, he can pull it off. Will he, perhaps. I hope so, but he has yet to be a UNIVERSALLY GREAT MC. Right now, he's hot, he's not GREAT. Proof. PROOF. Nas only got Ether to speak on? Dog Nas consistently drops hot non commercial ****, and still goes Gold.

And if I remember Jay was on Hot 97 and confirmed that he wanted Wayne on Def Jam

Wayne himselfs said otherwise. Nonetheless, Jay-Z could be saying that to save face. Wayne is hot right now, if he passed on him, he looks bad. He could be saying this in hindsight.

If I Ruled The World
Ether
N.Y. State Of Mind
Rewind
2nd Childhood
Doo Rags
My Way
Purple
No Idea's Original
Got Urself A Gun
Heaven
The Cross
U Know My Style
Thief's Theme
Street Dreams

You think Nas has 2 albums that are better than Illmatic???

You could argue against this, but I like Stillmatic (NO DOUBT) and It Was Written (a true hidden gem) that are better than Illmatic. It Was Written.. was right after Illmatic, so it still had a bit of that feel, but a bit better production, in the sence that it was more experimental and had a longer playlist, which I like if it's done properly. If I Ruled The World, Street Dreams, The Message, Black Girl Lost, Take It In Blood... Sick ****.

Stillmatic was a GREAT comeback record. Rewind, 2nd Childhood, Got Urself A Gun, Poison (What Goes Around...), Ether.. Destroy And Rebuild.. Hard to argue with that tracklisting. production was updated and he was at his most focused I think, on that album.

But I tell you this my man Scarface gets no respect when it comes to this rap game, he's the real King of the South and if you put him against nas he kills his ass every time in my book. **** if you look at Bun B lyrically I think he kills nas also, even Andre 3000 and Big Boi kills nas, but like I said I'm from the south and thats what I'm feelin'. I gotta get my boy Rosewoods back on this one, if ya'll think nas is god thats you but we just not feelin' that ****.

So many to chose from his 11 solo albums but I'm just going to drop some of his lyrics cuz we are talking lyrically right? Even though his beats and delivery is killin nas IMO and remember this is my opinion I'm not trying to change your opinion. I'm pretty sure Scarface doesn't get as much playtime in the UK because he's not mainstream and he prefers it that way he keeps it underground.

-In world news today, officials agree that rapper Brad Jordan alias

-Degrade women, influence gambling, promote and teach violence and more
importantly
-Its influencing our minors and destroying our young community
-Officials say, he's the lord of underground rap and his music must be

Scarface:

We got this whole mother****er on a mission
Now the whole entire world's gotta try to come up with a quick decision
They claim we threats to society
And now they callin on the government to try and make somebody quiet
For the bull**** they done to me
Gangsta Nip, Spice 1 or 2Pac never gave a gun to me
So gangsta rap ain't done **** for that
I've even seen white folks from River Oaks go get the gat
So why you tryin kick some dust up
America's been always known for blaiming us *****s for they ****-ups
And we were always considered evil
Now they tryin to bust our only code of communicating with our people
Lets peep the game from a different angle
Matt Dillon pulled his pistol every time him and someone tangled
So why you criticize me
For the **** that you see on your tv
That rates worse than PG
Just bring your ass to where they got me
So you can feel the hand of the dead body

Chorus:(Repeat 2X)

***** don't believe that song
That *****'s wrong
Gangstas don't live that long

So now they tryin seperation
And sendin black folks in white coats to infiltrate our congregation
Tappin into our conversation
Saying the message that they give
Bring forth or premeditation
So David's got a silver mag
While listenin to Brad, David gets mad and kills his dad
David Duke's got a shotgun
So why you get upset cause I got one
A tisket a tasket
A ***** got his ass kicked
Shot in the face by a cop, close casket
An open and shut situation
Cop gets got, the wanna blame it on my occupation
If you don't dig me, than ***** you can sue me
Because the **** that I be sayin ain't worse than no western money
Don't blame me blame your man Gotti
So you can feel the hand of the dead body

Good song. It dosen't beat IAHTT lyrically only content-wise, and that's only because IAHTT isn't a serious social commentary song, but Nas has plenty of those to choose from.

Scarface has it all, serious social commentary, gangsta ****, pimp ****. Like I said Before I have 11 solo albums to choose from not including some of the gems he's done with Geto boys. Nas isn't even the best rapper on the East coast that would have to be Jay.

Scarface is a beast of an MC..... The Fix is one of my fav albums....

It's no point comparing him to Nas, both are Legends..... Scarface is more underground and not really a commercial artist it would be doing no one any good and will spark up another pointless boring debate...

As for the East rule, Nas > Jay, all day, everyday......

Why would we? if a particular song is as good lyrically i will admit it, even if my preference for one artist remains the same. Yet in comparing Scarface to Nas lyrically you have to match lyrics like this.

NAS LYRICS

"Ghetto Prisoners"

As the night close down on the Earth like gray dark rings
Light of cities in the nights, destination for Kings
with big dreams, like Castro, overthrew Bautista
from Cuba, and pointed nukes toward the U.S.
About to shoot us for revolution; that's how you gotta move
A lot of rules, some locked in solitude
Curse the day of they birth confused, who's to be praised?
The mighty dollar -- or almighty Allah
I'm like the farmer, plantin words, people are seeds
My truth is the soil; help you grow like trees
May the children come in all colors, change like leaves
but hold before you, one of those, prophetic MC's
with blunted flows, seven hundred souls in me
Each channelin, from past to present times, heaven shines
light on those, innocent to how the world grows
Some men become murderers, and some girls become hoes
And you accounted for, everything that you heard
Do not speak to fools; they scorn the wisdom of your words
My heart is wise, bloodshot eyes, the saga never dies
Ghetto prisoners rise rise rise
Ghetto prisoners rise rise rise
Ghetto prisoners rise rise rise
Ghetto prisoners rise rise rise
Ghetto prisoners..

You wanna buy time? I'm the seller of minutes
I give you every second low-priced, if I so lies; the truth is
Time waits for none of you, in fact
he can't wait for the date to snatch the ground right from under you
Small visions of better life if cheddar was right
lurk in the mind, of young ones ahead of they time
Trapped in the slums, beggin for nuttin but takin
Headed for nuttin but the state pen, where they cousins be waitin
Judges is not relatin to pleas, guns bustin where the kids play
Richochet off lamp poles and leave damp holes
in bystanders, get cancelled, D.O.A.
Around the way where we from
Hope the future reduce the rate of those buried young
Life is every man's kingdom, a dyin man's past
and a newborn's, first time to be here at last
And shouldn't have to grow up fast, and suffer our pain
Hustlin harder than the generations here before he came
Goin through the same bull**** as our fathers
Readin history, but who's the authors?
For some the game is easy, for most of us the game is much harder
But never lose faith; through the years just get smarter
Ghetto prisoners.. ghetto prisoners..

Ghetto prisoners rise rise rise
Ghetto prisoners rise rise rise
Ghetto prisoners rise rise rise
Ghetto prisoners.. get up, wake up, rise
Ghetto prisoners rise rise rise
Ghetto prisoners rise rise rise
Ghetto prisoners rise rise rise
Ghetto prisoners..

I Seen A Man Die lyrics
So what you gonna do cat daddy?
[Scarface:] I don't know dawg..juss trying to live it one day at a time.
I hear you man, live it one day at a time...
[Scarface:] Let me get up outta here man my ride waitin'.
Aiight cat daddy stay tru
[Scarface:] Aiight man peace

[straight into verse one]

[Verse 1:]

He greets his father with his hands out
Rehabilitated slightly, glad to be the man's child
The world is different since he's seen it last
Out of jail in seven years and he's happy that he's free at last
All he had was his mother's worth
Now she's gone and he's gotta make a change and make it for the beddah
But he's back so he's got one strike against him
And he's young plus he came up in the system
But he's smart and he's finally makin' eighteen
And this goes to get on top and try to stay clean
So he's calling up his homie who dun came up
Livin' like this now they dealin' with the same stuff
And had that attitude that who he was was worth it
and with that ****ed up attitude he killed his first mate
Now it's different and he's dead as dirt
And realized that the name ain't coming up but it still hurt
And cain't nobody change this
It's ninteen-ninety-foe and we up against the same ****

[chorus]
I nevah understand why
I could nevah seen a man cry, til i seen that man die

[Verse two:]

Imagine life at it's full peak
Then imagine lying dead in the arms of your enemy
Imagine peace on this earth when there's no grief
Imagine grief on this earth when there's no peace
Cuz everybody's got a different way of endin' it
And when your number comes for service then they send it in
Now your time has arrived for the final touch
I see the fear in your eyes and hear your final breath
How much longeer will it be til it's all done?
Total darkness and ease be in all one
I watch him die and when he dies let us celebrate
You took his life, but your memory he'll never take
You'll be headed to another place
And the life you used to live will reflect in your mother's face

[chorus]

[Verse 3:]

I hear you breathin' but your heart no longer sounds strong
But you kinda scared of dying so you hold on
And you keep on blacking out cuz the post is near
Stop trying to fight the reaper just relax and let it go
Because there's no way you can fight it but you'll still try
And you can try it til you fight it but you'll still die
Now your spirit leaves your body and your mind clears
The rigormortis starts to set, now you outta here
You start your journey into outer space
You see yourself in the light but you're still feeling outta place
So you standing in the tunnel of eternal light,
And you see the ones you never learn to love in life
Make the choice let it go but u can back it up
If you ain't at peace with God you need to patch it up
But if you ready close your eyes and we can set it free
There lies a man not scared to die, may he rest in peace

I still got to wondah why,
I never seen a man cry til I seen a man die

Scarface is definately a great not only in Southern Hip Hop but Hip Hop in general. Probably no point in comparing him to Nas in the end. They are too different. Face is more straightforward but still real heavy while Nas is more abstract but they both have their appeal.

That was a BS single from Jay. Wayne merked that beat I have to disagree.

I might recieve some heat for agreeing with this post but i also thought wayne merked that beat, people only hate him because hes very popular and they hear his most popular songs but if they really looked into his music, hes got something for everybody.

The best active rapper alive is Nas imo followed by Jay Z then Lupe. The Wu-Tang members are still active but I would put them in an "Of All Time" type of lists, although I still enjoy there new stuff I find myself listening to their old albums way more.

The best active rapper alive is Nas imo followed by Jay Z then Lupe. The Wu-Tang members are still active but I would put them in an "Of All Time" type of lists, although I still enjoy there new stuff I find myself listening to their old albums way more.

As of right now there are people doing alot more than Nas, Jay Z and Lupe. The likes of J Cole, Jay Electronica, Fashawn, Royce, Blu etc.

I agree that the three you mentioned could be argued as the most skilld overall though
