Ok, what's your point?
KILLA RIGHT 02-09-2008, 07:43 PM ^wondering If Anyone Agreed
PED User 02-10-2008, 03:19 AM Louis's story is sad how he was ****ed over by so many and did a lot for people.
but let's not re-write things, louis had his demons outside the ring and admittedly did some very bad things worse than what he know of Ali.
Solntse 02-10-2008, 03:31 AM Most boxers were >>> Ali outside the ring.
Ali had one of the worst personalitty in any sport.

ali had the worst personality in any sport? Is that why so many emulated him afterwards?
Ali and Louis are similar in many ways, being that they stayed in the ring longer than needed, and had sum leeches for freinds. They both cheated on their wives as well, but what do you expect? the champion of the world to be a saint with no faults?
yeah + ali was one of the funniest ****ers ever :D
KILLA RIGHT 02-10-2008, 05:59 PM I luv when ppl luv alis attitude but hate pbf

Ali's main draw (in terms of personality) was the humor that he employed with his ****iness. Floyd tries to emulate Ali, but he forgets to use the humor- or hes not capable of it. The lighthearted nature of Muhammad was what took the edge off of his obvious self-confidence.
Cosell: "You're being awfully trucculent."
Ali: "Whatever trucculent means, if it's good, then I'm that."
KILLA RIGHT 02-10-2008, 08:33 PM ali calling frazier a monkey is not funny.Pbf don't go on the personel level like ali did...
PED User 02-11-2008, 12:35 AM floyd's biggest crime when it comes to his trash talk is being unfunny.
Ali's trash talk towards Frazier was 100 times more cruel than anything floyd says. however ali was often funny when he was talking trash, and floyd rarely is.

Ali gave nicknames to alot of his opponents. I see you comparing pbf to ali cause both gave off ****y vibes, where ali was funny and articulate, pbf just seems like an *******.
moin126 02-11-2008, 07:09 AM i like pbf's attitude more, because he's one muther****er, that doesnt care.
vs oscar at presser. ''yeah the eyes tell it all! and he's a *****, and all ***** get ****ed and may 5th your gonna get ****ed.''
thats priceless.
Or how he predicted everything he would do to hatton, that his shots were to wide etcetc. After the fight he was humble, but we all know what he said, and the fans know it, he backed it up. Hatton knows it.
JC Warrior 02-13-2008, 01:38 AM From Louis being > Ali outside the ring to Floyd being > Ali as a prefight persona....where did this thread go wrong lol.
Outside of America people knew Joe Louis as just a great American prize fighter. You can ask anyone in the world just about anywhere who Ali is and you will probably still get smiles, cheers, stories, and all manner of talk about who Ali was and what he meant to people as an icon and a source of inspiration. If you ask anyone in a third world country who Joe Lous is/was you might get someone who knew of him as a heavyweight champion. Ali was a citizen of the world, not just America. The entire world knew Ali and 95% of it embraced him.
PBF?! He's clearly one of the best, if not the best outright, fighters active (if two fights a year is active), but outside of the sport of boxing very few will tell you much more about Mayweather than "oh yea he was on that dancing show right?".
And I couldn't disagree more with the original poster about Louis > Ali. Louis had his share of difficulty at a time when just about any black person in America was enduring hell. Especially such an easily identifiable black man, no one is robbing Louis of recognition of suffering if that was the OP's point.

ali said " it's gonna be a thrilla and a chilla when i meet the gorilla "

louis was loved by even white america when he was champ,, as much as they hated jack johnson. joe louis is the michael jordan of boxing, italian american rocky marciano idolized louis when he was a kid. the people loved louis but his country sure ****ed him over. also louis had a cocaine problem, probably lots of other personal problems also, but who doesn't?
Brockton Lip 02-13-2008, 12:10 PM Its difficult to compare how they were outside because they were so different. Louis was quiet and tried to give a good image and 'obey' while Ali was boisterous and said what he wanted. Both of them were great outside the ring as well as inside.
TheAliBomber 02-18-2008, 03:04 PM You must be retarded to say that lol
Ali had one of the greatest personalittys ever, why do you think everybody loves him to death?

What years did Ali go to jail? I think I missed that one. I think Joe Louis absolutely did more outside of the ring, but because it was so long ago, Ali gets more credit. Ali was a bigger name worldwide, though.
PED User 02-19-2008, 01:35 AM Ali went to jail shortly on a driving violation (driving with a suspended license) but never actually did time for his stance on the war.
