What do you make of Butcher taking up the role as George Burley's number two in the Scotland set-up? Apparently Butcher was booed by the English media in the press room at an Arsenal game last week. I'm not sure if it was a joke or not but I find this a tad hypocritical considering you've just appointed an Italian to manage your national side.

i dont care if any England manager opts to be the manager or the assistent manager of Scotland ,ive got nothing against Scotland & i feel sorry for them that they have 'nt been fortunate enough to make it to a major championship tournament for a while

what does piss me off is why some Scottish fans dislike Dislike England so much for no reason ,all British sides deserve success

It saddens me to say that there are a lot of Scots who think it is acceptable to express anti-English sentiment as and when they feel like it. It is a minority but a vocal minority who I feel let themselves and their country down.

A lot of international teams have managers from different countries, Ireland had big Jack who put them on the world map of football, he even led them to a victory of England, most of the African teams have European coaches and nothing seems to be said, Terry played in Scotland long enough knows the game up there really well and I would say he is a very honourable man.
What is more interesting is that for decades now people have been doing this for decades and nobody says anything yet when Cappello took the England job FIFA president Sepp Blatter says this should not happen and is not right, why did he make these comments now and not for the other countries who have done the same thing.

I dont see how it makes much difference to be honest, its a world sport. I'm not one of these who believes that you must be from the Country you manage, simply because it should be the best man available for the job.

Also Butcher has strong links with Scotland from his playing days and as a Manager so.....
