the secret is to have the flat foot moving backwards WITHOUT touching the ground, maybe a few millimetres off the ground. You have to balance all your weight on the ball of the opposite foot.

Takes some practice, but gets da ladies for sure!!!1

I can't do the moonwlk, but I got his "kick and grab the nuts" move down to perfection.
