He was so scared of throwing a punch against rjj, and he was no1 contender.
I know that no1 looks good against roy jones, but come on , that performance was the worst performance by an aussie.
Just as bad as Stipe Drews performance against Danny Green.
He got ko'ed in 2 by david haye in 2005.

Im not surprised david haye knocked out a guy in 2 rounds that was 25 pounds higher than his natural weight and past his prime to begin with. Jones took it to glen kelly. Kelly was a good solid lhw. But jones made him look like nobody.

I've seen Glen Kelly fight live, he had decent skills and was a good fighter. I think him fighting Roy Jones Jnr was just a bad idea, Roy was in his prime and secondly Kelly was just so nervous during the fight and the jump in class was too much for Glen.

I think Kelly could have hang in with most of the top light heavy weights at the time, but Jones was just a freak. I think a Prime Glen Kelly would out box someone like Danny Green.

This isn't the 'good bloke' thread Brently! Kelly might be a good bloke but the way he got :owned: was just a farce. Before he fought Roy I actually gave the guy half a chance to make a fight out of it! I was left red faced' after watching that. Kelly was kicking the **** out of his opponents leading up to the Jones fight and went to 'water' and let Jones dominate him!

Yo Brently! It's only a bit of tongue-in-cheek stuff dude! 2001 was the year of heartbreaks for Aussie fighters trying to win world Titles! Mundine KO'd against feather-fisted Ottke. Shannon 'I'm as high as a Kite' Taylor got bazooked out of the US and the Kelly fight. I watched all these fights and was upset after each one. At least one of them could have won a World Title, but 3 KO losses was a bit devastating from Australian Boxing fans point of view! I gather you must know Kelly personally?

Whilst he was indeed overmatched, that fight basically ensured that Glen could retire with some decent cash.
