MetalVomit 01-24-2008, 09:41 PM if he paid for the sample, he's doing nothing that other prominent(sp?) producers have done. If he jacked it and didnt give credit, he's a theif. Doesn't change the fact that he's one of the most creative producers ever.
JoeyBB 01-24-2008, 09:43 PM creative. This fool isn't creative.....

false........"one in a million" "up jumps the boogie" "the rain".....i could go on.
Truth 01-24-2008, 10:35 PM Samples kick ass...

This mother****er hasn't given any credit whatsoever...he hasn't on most of 'his' hit songs...he's went to court countless times over classic beats like Big Pimpin, etc...the dudes a fat thief and literally steals melodies and rifts.

agree......
Smokin' 01-24-2008, 11:20 PM Honestly calling this guy creative is a travesty...I used to think he was creative too, the way he has changed sounds every 5 years and has made some crazy, crazy sick beats...but not after this, and all the other **** I have seen on the net. Almost none of his songs out have been legit tracks, that includes almost all of JT's album, that Fab song Make me Better, all of Nelly Furtado's ****..
THis guys a joke.
neils7147933 01-25-2008, 11:17 AM Diddy did the same thing except he got rich first, then acquired a massive sample selection. Timbaland's just going after songs that aren't as well known.
Not creative, but with the means and equipment to remix real artist's creations
THe TRiNiTY 01-25-2008, 04:40 PM Anyone who uses samples or loops or riffs, leaves themselves open for this type of backlash. Nonetheless, Timbaland is a very talented producer. All producers do this, if you think they don't.. you haven't met a great producer.

He's probably a creative dude...but seriously almost this guys whole catalogue is stolen ****...when you have exact melodies then you are running into a problem. All he has basically done for most of his beets is add some snares here and there, a couple kicks and maybe speed up the sample. It's straight up bull****.
And that last line is false...many great great producers sample but they don't do it to the extent that Timbo has. The majority of Primo's beats (so I've heard) have been made from scratch. Dre is no stranger to sampling either but he doesn't straight up copy **** exact.

Preemo actually scratches other peoples lines, to make exact choruses. That's creative of him, but it takes the crativity away from the rapper. It's essentially the same thing, just for a different person involved.
Timbaland has a lot of great beats that he and Damaja or whatever the **** his side kicks name is, have done. When you're making a beat, a lot of sounds go into it. The example of just slowing or speeding a beat up can make a lot of songs sound like a lot of different sounds/songs. It's unfair to assume that the songs are even from the same essential source.
Timbaland may take an easy route and basically alter a beat only slightly. However, I'd be pretty comfortable betting that almost all producers have done a bit of this here and there. It's ust that he has had an EXTREMELY long run of putting out huge hits. He's bound to get noticed.
I get what you're saying, but to just single him out is a bit unfair.
