American Top Team fighter Antonio Silva will face former Ultimate Fighting Championship titleholder Ricco Rodriguez as part of the undercard of EliteXC: Street Certified according to a report on ProElite.com.

The event is scheduled for Feb. 16 at the Bank United Center in Miami. The main event features Kimbo Slice in his second professional mixed martial arts bout, this time facing UFC veteran David “Tank” Abbott.

Currently the Cage Rage world heavyweight champion, EliteXC has been banking on the 9-1 Silva to emerge as the promotion’s leading heavyweight talent.

In fact, EliteXC’s president of live events, Gary Shaw recently stated, “I believe that Antonio ‘Big Foot’ Silva could knockout any heavyweight in the UFC.”

Despite dealing with some heady personal issues, Rodriguez is 6-1 in his seven most recent bouts, losing only to top International Fight League heavyweight Ben Rothwell.

Rodriguez is also a scheduled guest on the current run of “Celebrity Rehab” airing on VH1.

Just last week, Shaw had indicated that Cage Rage veteran Gary Turner was expected to face Silva. MMAWeekly sources relayed that there were a couple of sticking points in the details of the contract, however, that couldn’t be overcome.
