It was huge for about 10 years but then all of a sudden it dropped down in popularity.

This is what is going to happen with UFC.

Vince ended up running it into the ground.

And once a major competitor is established (Mark Cuban anyone..?) say bye bye to the UFC. They wont have the best fighters anymroe.

UFC as a brand isn't going away anytime soon. Whilst Dana White is indeed an egomaniac & a cunt, he has gotten a lot of positive exposure for this sport, which is a good thing.

The monopoly thing obviously isn't great from a fighters perspective and it would be good to see some major players come in and shake things up. Cuban is doing it the right way in using his Hdnet for fights and is testing the waters slowly but surely which I think is the correct approach.

Re the best fighters, the UFC has never really had the best fighters until Pride went belly up e.g. white said Rich Franklin was the best middleweight in the world, then they sign Anderson Silva who demolishes his ass, Chuck Liddell is another example White said he was the no1 light heavy and then Jackson knocks him out in 30 seconds.

The UFC is very good at marketing its brand and that is their strength.

Can say the exact same thing about Wanderlei, Shogun, sokojou, Nog, CroCop. They were considered the best in the world and they also got beat by fighters YOU barely knew. Nog, I was expecting much more from him but I wasnt impressed with his fight against the Krazyhorse.
