you got stevenson beating bj? i dont think that will happen. but, i think bj is for real this time. i think he really wants the belt and has worked hard on his cardio....but you never know, joe daddy is no joke.
are you guys getting this event on ppv. i am not going to, im not that excited about this card and i figure i will watch the fight/fights the next day on what ever website posts them. this will be the first event i am not getting on ppv or going to be at in over two and a half years. besides, i heard the ppv price is going up from 39.95 to 44.95....after being taxed, that about 50bucks.

Palma 01-15-2008, 06:04 AM I have never seen BJ tapped out in any event (Cage fighting, BJJ and/or Grappling event). This will be a real surprise if Joe does manage to catch BJ in a submission.

PRELIMINARY BOUTS:
Sam Stout def. Per Eklund by Unanimous Decision R3
R1 – Stout takes the center of the octagon, with both fighters finding their range. It becomes apparent that Eklund’s game plan is to take the fight to the mat. Paul Kelly def. Paul Taylor by Unanimous Decision 5:00 R3
R1 – Both fighters take to the center of the octagon, both throwing violent flurry’s at each other. Both have success, but Taylor appears to land the heavier blows with Kelly screaming at his opponent to push the action. Kelly clinches pushing Taylor against the fence. Taylor pushes off and lands a left, right combination followed by a glancing head kick. Kelly shoots in but gets caught in a Guillotine choke. He slams Taylor to the mat and proceeds to land some heavy ground and pound for the rest of the round, causing Taylor to bleed from his nose. The round ends with Kelly punishing Taylor from top position.
R2 – Taylor secures a takedown and attempts to take Kelly’s back but Kelly reverses the position, putting Taylor once again on his back. Kelly proceeds to land some more heavy ground and pound. Taylor attempts a Kimura from the bottom, but Kelly powers through and continues his onslaught. Taylor once again attempts a Kimura from bottom but Kelly lands a big right elbow to the forehead of Taylor, opening up a cut. R2 ends with Kelly in top position.
R3 – The round starts with both fighters hugging eachother as a sign of respect. They back out and the exchanges begin again. Kelly lands a heavy right dazing Taylor and then he secures the takedown and proceeds with his ground and pound attack of early rounds. Herb Dean stands up the fighters due to inactivity and Taylor attempts to strike, Kelly realizing his key to success is his ground and pound once again takes the fight to the mat. Both fighters continue to strike with Kelly punching down and Taylor punching up from his back. The final ten seconds of the bout are signaled and Taylor attempts to stand up with Kelly continuing to hold down his opponent. All three judges score the bout 30-27 the winner is Kelly by Unanimous Decision.
Antoni Hardonk def. Colin Robinson by KO 0:17 R1
R1 – The first exchange of the bout saw Robinson looking to close the distance but Hardonk clinched and fired a couple of knees at his opponent, pushing away from the clinch he proceeded to throw a thunderous leg kick combination that ended with a big left hand knocking out Robinson after only 17 seconds of UFC action.
R2 – Eklund appearing tired, continues with his game plan of attempting to take the fight down to the floor. In an exchange of strikes Eklund lands a head kick. They clinch and Stout roll’s for a knee bar, they scramble and Eklund attempts to take Stouts back. Eklund appears to have run out of gas and for the later part of the round resorts to dropping to his back and bicycle kicking up. Stout frustrated attempts some heavy ground and pound, Eklund appears to almost lock on an armbar, but Stout backs out.
R3 – Stout the fresher of the two fighters, continues his aggressive approach throwing heavy leather at Eklund. Eklund with out fail shoots everytime. Stout sprawls and Eklund repeatedly drops to his back. The crowd appears unimpressed with Eklund’s lack of activity and his reluctance to engage. The round ends with Stout continuing to dominate Eklund.
