We may not now exactly how good Joe is but he is hardly a yawn. He has been down twice in the last two fights and then gotten up and put that guy down...that sounds like felix trinidad too me. I am not comparing the two just stating that Joe Calzaghe is a lot of fun too watch and is hardly a yawn no matter how good he turns out tto be.

In fairness, I think any boxer would have struggled to look exciting against someone like Salem.

I'm talking about Calzaghe...overall.

I think he's just a dud of a fighter.
He seems uninteretsed in making a fight that's worth a damn.
I think he's happy to stay in the U.K. & fight all of these mid-level guys.
& he ain't exactly lighting things up when he is in action....

I say Hopkins, Lacy, Tito, Tarver, Taylor and a buncha other people I cant remember right now would beat Calzaghe

There are a whole bunch of guys that would kick Lacy's ass too, but I bet no one will be making a thread titled "Lacy = Yawn". And the sad part is it's just because of the way he looks, as he is rarely able to translate it into exciting results.

Knucklehead...

You just totally agreed with the title of this topic !
Thank you.

Some of you on here need to post with your heads, instead of with your hearts & ****s....because you lose sight of the topic at hand, & you wind up way off....or actually confirm the point that so upsets you !

tito is not big enough to beat calzaghe for crying out loud. Calzaghe is nearly al ight heavy he is screwing to get down to the weight. Lacy I dunno he may do, Taylor dont make me laugh, he has been fed light middles how the eff is he gonna handle someone the size of calzaghe. One average perfomance does not make you a piss poor fighter, Calzaghe may well be a "home" protected mouthy dickhead, (i dont like him) but he is a ****ing good skilled fighter, he has been out of the ring too long and was in with an awkward character the other night. Taylor would struggle with Eastman so how you think he would beat JoE is beyond me.

Get some perspective please!

Jpw, You Are One Of The Few People On This Site Who Talk Sense

Saying Taylor Would Ko Joe Is Rediculous, And Trinidad Would Never Be Able To Handle His Size, I Would Like To See Calzaghe Against Hopkins (blown Up) Even Though Joe Is Struggling To Make The Weight

He Was Ring Rusty Against Salem That Was Obvious, And Saying Calzaghe = Yawn, Means You Havent Watched Many If Any Of His Fights, He's Extremely Skilled And Full Of Enough Power To Change A Fight Round In One Punch, So Shut Your Pathetic Mouth

Why don't you read my post after that ?
I cite WHY I think he's a DUD.

At least I read, & think, before I open my pathetic mouth...can't say the same for you & many others.

it wasnt aimed at you personally, im just saying that calzaghe is very talented and intresting to watch, he changes fights round in one punch, even when he was on the canvas seconds before

I like Joe and have been watching his fights for years. He's a very skilled boxer with good power, although I must admit in his last couple of fights his defence was very ropey. In the Salem fight it was so obvious he was gonna get caught, I was literally screaming at my tv for Joe to get his hands up!

Makes me wonder if things would have been different if that was Tarver in there with him???

Calzaghe wouldn't last two rounds with tarver.

It, in all honesty, is a complete mismatch.

its oe of two things isnt it, either he is past it and on the slide, or he is struggling to get up for these non entity fights, either way he has only got himself to blame, should have gone global 3 years ago. I just hope hatton doesnt make the same mistake. :(

I agree to an extent that he is uninterested in making great fights, but it was Hopkins that nix the deal with showtime that would have lead to a huge fight for the fans. Granted as it turns out it was probably a good move by Hopkins because he was selected by Oscar to make a boat load of cash.

From what I have read Joe has not been lighting it up in his last two fights but I give him a bit of a pass for some of the excitement that he has produced in the recent past. Joe's fight with Charles Brewer was amazing, I still pop in that tape every once in a while. His fight with Mitchel although stopped prematurely was damn exciting as well. Is he a dud, I don't think so but I easily could be wrong, I think Ricky Hatton is a dud, but I could be wrong...Joe if in fact he is a dud is one of the more exciting duds in the sport today and when/if he does get beaten it will be in a war that we will be talking about for a long time, those kind of duds I tend to give a pass too.

Calzaghe is afraid to fight the american super middles, Lacy would knock his head off, hopkins would take him to school, and if he ever dared get in the ring with tarver, or jones before the kayos, he would be ktfo very quickly.

hopkins and lacy could retire calzage .. but thats about it the super middle weights suck.. calzage at light heavy is a joke he cant take super middle weight shots
he the REAL Glass Joe

all due respect gentleman both of you are ****in nuts. Hopkins is a middleweight, Joe is way to big to be knocked out by Hopkins. Bhop may win but maybe you have not been watchingBhop that much over the last few years, there is no way in hell he could knock Joe out. Calzaghe is probably the only fighter that could get Bernard to fight like he used too, junk yard doggin it. Joe would do this because of the size difference, 158 pounder who is not a big puncher vs. a guy that walks around at between 175-190 who has shown a pretty good chin, no ****ing way Joe would be knocked out, there is just no chance. I know BHOP is great but saying he is going to ko a light heavy(basically what Joe is) is ridiculous, and whats even more ridiculous is the relative ease in which your words state he would do this. ****in ridiculous.

hopkins is bigger he always come in incredible shape ..shape calzage has never seen and hopkins would meet him at the wieght and still be in better shape

Jabby,

How am I a knucklehead by saying that for the most part people are jumping on Lacy's dick because he has some muscles, and hyping him up before we have a chance to see what he really has? I read the ****ing post, and posted my opinion, simple as that. Lacy hasn't beat anyone with a punch yet, so I don't know how hard his chin is. I do know his defense sucks ass, and from what I've seen of him, he isn't that great as of yet. You misinterpreted my post, you're the knucklehead. People are more lenient with fighters they like, and THAT'S why I said that no one would be posting **** like Lacy = YAWN, because they can't get off his dick to do it. People just seem to hate Joe, whether it's because he's white, because he's a brit, or both, I don't know, but I know that it's hate that motivates their posts, and you trying to imply that I'm stupid enough to make a post making your point is just lunacy....knucklehead.
