Dynamite Kid 01-07-2008, 12:40 PM which Football players do u enjoy watching past & present ?
i have to admit i do like watching Shrek [Rooney] play
Messi a fantastic to watch i love the close control & acceleration he has ,very gifted player
Kaka ive never seen an AMF /10 AS Quick as this guy his goal agaisnt Man Utd & Old trafford he just left Vidic for dead ,he aslo places his shots fantastic to watch
one of my all time favourites is Patrick Vieira the way he could get hold of a Midfeild he was awsome he could have 3 players around him pop the ball over their head juggle it on his knee get it down & play a killer through ball ,Quality
Mozza 01-07-2008, 12:51 PM Rangers played Villarreal in the Champions League a few seasons ago and the tickets for the game should have read "The Riquelme Show". The man was an absolute joy to watch and I find it incredible that he isn't playing for a major European team.
Gascoigne, Laudrup, Giggs, Larsson, Messi and Benzema are some other fantastic players I have had the pleasure of seeing play in the flesh.
THE REED™ 01-07-2008, 12:53 PM past is definitely barry sanders present is brett favre actually, im not a packers fan, but doin what hes doin at his age is great to watch
black.ink 01-07-2008, 01:05 PM Gotta be Zidane. In his prime he did everything you just said about Viera and more. The things this man did with the ball left me jaw droppingly **** my pants, smack me with a spoon gobsmacked.
Also, early Ronaldo. The man was a genius. Then the genius got fat. Nuff said.
I like watching old clips of Garrincha. Man knew how to play football. I read somewhere that he took home a dog from a game after it ran onto the pitch where Jimmy Greaves tried catchin it.......pissed all over Greavsie which Garrincha found amusing. So he kept it. Nice sense of humour.

Zidane about 4/5 step overs then pirouette away from tackles & play a through ball or score from outside the box ,Genious
what about his Volley in the CL final ,what a ****ing goal that was
The Monk 01-07-2008, 01:36 PM Thierry Henry in his prime was a joy to wathc, the way he glides past players is amazing. I like to watch tough tacklers like David Batty who really gave the foreign players a shock when they came up against him. At the moment it has to be Kevin Phillips, still premiership class.
Addition 01-07-2008, 01:45 PM Past
Ronaldo - not exactly the past but he was **** back then, a prime Ronaldo was untouchable and easily the best striker of this generation.
Zola - He was ****ing genius, shame the likes of Baggio and Mancini were around then otherwise he would have played for his country on numerous occasions.
Le Tisser - Every time I watched him, he would score excellent goals.
Present
Messi - Words can't describe how talented this guy is.
Kaka - Best player in the world.
Riquelme - One of the most gifted players in the game today.
The Iron Man 01-07-2008, 01:48 PM Ronaldinho
Ronaldo (past)
Zidane
Berbatov
Cantona
Kaka
Messi
C.Ronaldo
Dynamite Kid 01-07-2008, 01:56 PM some times i see games that Henry & C.Ronaldo are involved in & they have had very little impact i think they are the same type of player to a degree ,players who need space to run into they seem to struggle when teams squezze the game & their is no space in behind etc for them to run into
i have seen loads of big games Henry was ineffectual in & Ronaldo who was anonymous against AC Milan last year & he gets :owned: constantly by Ashley Cole
I tend to favour players with less physical attributes players who have to use their brain more & be clever to be effective that is true genious IMO ,Raul ,Riquelme etc
moofo 01-07-2008, 02:28 PM In my lifetime there are 4 periods where I ****ing really enjoyed watching Football.
1.World Cup 1986 until the hand of God...and even then it was ****ing magic witnessing the Skill of Diego Maradonna before he went of the rails.
2. Italia 1990.
Nessun Dorma and all that **** and We were so ****ing close!!!
**** West Germany in the arsehole until the end of time.
3.Euro 96 yet again a fantastic tournement and a summer to remember.
Gazzas goal against the Jocks stands out for me.
4. Man Utd winning the treble in 1999.
I don't care what any ****er says that Final was the best in Euro history!!
Since 99 Footy can suck my balls.
C.C.SABATHIA 01-07-2008, 02:31 PM Brett Favre,Tom Brady and Moss are something to start with.
kayjay 01-07-2008, 03:30 PM Presenty I find Messi the most pleasing.
He moves full speed yet sees everything well in advance of aother players, attacks in unpredictable ways.

Seeing Batistuta's reminded me of some of my favourite Serie A players from the 90s, notably Signori, Mancini and Roberto Baggio. Baggio's performances at the 94 World Cup were a joy to behold. George Weah is another who was brilliant. I remember a goal he scored in the last minute of a game for Milan where he picked up the ball in his own penalty box and ripped a team before finishing at the other end. Boban was another player I enjoyed watching.

Yeah, to be honest i could name names for ages, growing up i was a massive fan of Danielle Massaro who was a true world class player till his carrer got ended early, i was a fan of Rai from PSG (Son of Socrates of Brazil fame), Klinsmann, Hassler, Moller, Koeman, Vialli, weah was a legend-yeah that goal is on you tube. Just too many to name.
Roughly here are the best guys of my era, im only 22, so it contains some recent names, to be honest, this is random, if i really thought about it, maybe id remove totti and a few others lol.
Best european finisher i ever saw: Raul Gonazlez, went back and studied this guys goal on you tube, never seen anything like that since Ronaldo.
Best Forward i ever saw: Ronaldo, in his prime he was the ultimate, couldnt head a ball for **** though. :lol1:
Best Midfielder i ever saw: Totti, seriously underrated and never will get his dues, never actually fufilled his potential, which is why he is a folk-legend in italy. If not then ronaldinho, seriously, no one in the game has more talent, I dont understand how he does certain things, he can actually destroy you in one single moment, no cliches.
Best Defender i ever saw: Nesta, obviously telepathic as he always knows where marker will go.
Best GoalKeeper i ever saw: Buffon, seriously, there is nothing on earth like this guy.
kayjay 01-07-2008, 05:43 PM The best individual performance I ever saw, not counting watchg DM as a kid, was Zidane against Brazil in '06. After that Zidane against Brazil '98, then Zidane in a few others. Sadly I never got to watch him weekly due to the TV contracts (neither Juve nor Real featured weekly here in those days)

Totti is very underrated because he has never left Roma. He has been linked with Real on more than one ocassion but it has never went through. Another player in Italy who is underrated is the Fiorentina goalkeeper Frey. He must be one of the top keepers in the world but rarely gets a mention because he plays for a relatively unfashionable club.

Zidane was nice at Juve, better at real Madrid tho, he used to do some funny ****, when real won the title on 03' i think, for the last 10 mins of the final game of the season, zidane pissed about doing crazy tricks and just being an ass, hilarious ****.

If he wasn't such a prat and performed well at International level he'd get more recognition. I'm a big fan of Totti, very loyal (which you hardly see in the game today) and ever since he moved to the centre forward position he has been awesome man, to win the golden boot is an amazing feat.

Real offered cash, but roma said no, £25 million was the amount talked about, anyways, his fault, these days it's all about Ibrahimovic in italy, watch next year, all the gays will be jumping over him saying how good he is, you heard it here first, he is the best in italy, better than Kaka, possibly more talented too.
Its kind of funny cos i actually like Joey Barton even though ive never seen him in a full game :lol1: , seen him loads of times on MOTD, he ****ing good player i think.
I also watch match of the day just to follow Anelka, he ****in quality, actually more intellgent player than he was at arsenal, can actually create instead of being a pace merchant.
I like Berbatov, Kevin Doyle :lol1: (Seriously, he actually okay) Torres, all sorts of players, some good, some i dont know why.
mickeyb 01-07-2008, 07:09 PM Paulo Di Canio. For....forever.
Also, never get tired of watching Eric Cantona.
haha...tech skill chose Totti.. what a suprise

I've seen some ZI this year and I don't disagree. I never took Kaka for genuinely transcendent anyway, just exceptionally good. He's the kind of guy who always makes the right play and maximizes his talent, but not one who does things that catch me off guard.
Its kind of funny cos i actually like Joey Barton even though ive never seen him in a full game :lol1: , seen him loads of times on MOTD, he ****ing good player i think.
.
I've always rated Barton but in context, not as world class of course
-CANE- 01-08-2008, 03:37 AM Past
Glenn Hoddle the greatest passer of the ball this country has ever produced.
Dave McKay the hardest player of them all who had great skill and a deft touch.
Diego Maradona the greatest player ever.
Zenedine Zidane pure genius and fantastic balance.
Pat Jennings as no one mentions keepers, great shot stopper and brilliant on crosses using just one hand on numerous occasions.
Pele and George Best just behind Maradona but all 3 were real men and tough sons of *****es who would try and stay on their feet even after being hacked to pieces not like todays ****ing ***** cunt divers.
-CANE- 01-08-2008, 03:44 PM Glenn Hoddle pure masterclass. The greatest passer ever in this country left foot or right and scored beautiful goals with both feet.
Watch and learn

LeeHotti__ 01-11-2008, 12:53 AM Vieria was ****ing nuts in his prime. I'm amazed a guy that tall has the kind of touch on the ball that he had.
I liked Muller back in the day. Pure striker. Good skills one on one because of his explosive ness. And always there at the right time.
Cafu.. solid defensively and was almost one dimensional in his runs. But you couldn't stop him. He was class in 98 against france. Wow.
LeeHotti__ 01-11-2008, 12:54 AM I dont know what TS sees in Totti.
And KAKA isn't THAT good either.
Alan Shearer and now Oba Martins.

For some reason I like Finnyan and Hyppia. Dont ask me why.
Really like Camenoresi also. And Emerson.
Crock 01-11-2008, 06:13 PM George Best.
Nobody even come close for me since.
Wembley 1968, 10 years old & pissing my pants with excitement. Happy ****ing days
Present
Cristiano Ronaldo - Even tho hes a complete prick half the time, on form hes one of the greatest wingers for a long time
Lionel Messi - Truely gifted, cant remember a player with such ball control while running flat out taking on defenders...new maradona?
Kaka - Silky smooth football, love the way he can completely slow the flow of the game and pick out the perfect pass
Cesc Fabregas - This kid is one of the greatest passers there is, great football brain
Samuel Eto'o - Some would say he gets goals easy with the team around him, but he is definetly in the top 5 finishers in the game today
Ronaldinho - Maybe loosing his touch these days, partly because everyone expects so much of him, touched by the hand of genius, mind boggling skills and technique
Fernando Torres - Finally without the pressure of being captain of his home club, hes showing the world what class he is in front of goal, give him half a chance and hell punish you, just check out the goal he scored yesterday at boro
Ones To Watch
Bojan Krkic - The barcelona starlet looks to be one of the next big things, ridiculously good for his age
Sergio Aguero - Athletico Madrid wonderkid, along with Bojan, heading for greatness
Giovanni Dos Santos - Another product of the barcelona youth system, resembles a young Ronaldinho in looks and footballing style
I dont know what TS sees in Totti.
And KAKA isn't THAT good either.
No wonder you were banned
Kaka practically dragged AC Milan to the Champions league final, outshines his team mates for the national team, world player of the year
:duh:

Stalteri is top draw though eh ,LOL
Addition 01-13-2008, 12:38 PM Totti is a class act. Ever since he moved to the centre forward position he's been great and hasn't stopped scoring, he also won the golden boot last season. I can see why TS likes Totti.

But the real deal is it not what you did as a boy but what are you doing as a Man that matters.
