1 Hargreaves goes in cause he is a good defensive midfeilder he can win the ball back & he has boundless energy ,Carrick is in thier Because of his range of passing & above all he can dictate the play from that Deeper postition the way pirlo does for AC Milan obviously Pirlo is a better player but they have play the same type of game deep lying play maker , and if anyone has watched England over the last few years they will know that England have lacked a true Dmf to win the ball & have conceeded possession to easily that is another reason Carrick's passing comes in usefull & he can also find rakeing through balls & split a defence ,dont get me wrong Carrick has a lot to prove but he is the type of player we need & on his day he is a brilliant player


Gerrard left wing ,Because i dont trust him in a 4-4-2 i think he is tactically naive & so does Rafa benitez thats why he has tried to move him out wide when ever he can when Alonso is fit,Gerrard is'nt gonna be hugging the touchline like an out & out winger he is able to float around knowing he has the protection of 2 DMF protecting his back four he will switch flanks with Joe cole come inside go outside ,then u have Rooney as a playmaker expressing himself with a free role doing his thing slidign Owen through etc ,we know what Joe Cole's role is ,as for Owen no he is not the biggest he does 'nt knock defenders out of position he is'nt as quick as he used to be but he is still johnny on the spot & if u create chances he wil be in the right place at the right time , the guy can do nothing in a game sometimes but he wil always pop up with a goal & with Wayne feeding him through balls it should work fine Cole Rooney Gerrard, creating for him

Englands biggest problem is retaining possesion why do u think they take the lead in almost every game but surrender the lead eventually ,cause they keep giving the ball back to the opostition , Gerrard is one of thre worst for giving the ball away ,Owen Hargreaves is a better short passer than Gerrard but not by a lot & not enough to to make a Gerrard /Hargeaves combination work sufficiently anyway ,effectively Hargreaves would be in their to mop up Gerrards mess everytime he gave the ball away

this is why Carrick is usefull cause he is a good passer of the ball right foot & left foot he can play throughb balls to the front men aswell .Carrick is a top player when he is on his game ,

Cappello has played 4-2-3-1 nearly all his career & i suspect that is what he'll do with the England side & if he does u can put money on it Owen will play up top

Need to get rid of Gerrard, and give Lampard a crack. I always thought Gerrard was the superior player, and Lampard was overrated. I've realised I've got it the wrong way round.
