AFI aint bad. I havent seen the girl not grey video but the fact that they are on MTV isnt no big thing. long as they keep making good music. My Brother saw AFI last week and said they sound excellent live.

AFI: Generic "OOOHH WHOOOA WHOOOA YEEEAAAH" punk ballad guitar backed by generic punk rock beat & fronted by angry ex-misfit. I can see how Havok's words could have the potential to speak to his listeners through some of his idealisms and portrayals of whatever the **** it is he's *****ing about, but I can't stand the music enough to listen through it. AFI's trying to ride a line defined by bands such as Bad Religion, Minor Threat, The Misfits, The Vandals, and the like... except they're trying to modernize it... and I've never really been into Havok's whole thing with hangin onto the Horror-rock stigma for noteriety. But whatever.

My taste evolved beyond punk a long time ago anyway. Through a band some people know as Pantera, I found bands like Testament, Life of Agony & Anthrax,.. and it just went from there. Can't forget the greats like Bad Religion and DK and the FLAG, though.

I saw AFI last friday. It was funny my friend and I were 1 of 12 people over the age of 21 at the show.
The band is pretty good. D havok could belt it out ill tell ya.
Takin it in the ass has really helped his high notes.

They are going the wrong route goin on MTV. theyve been around for years only to prepare to fall out when that genre disappears from MTV.
