THE REAL NINJA 01-04-2008, 02:37 PM It shouldn't last more then one round no matter who wins. lol
You know Tank is going to go toe to toe but he does have some wrestling skill not much but some, so if Slice gets the better I think Tank will take him down.
Then again Slice has been training for the ground game so he might be able to beat Tank at that too.
flat1985 01-04-2008, 04:02 PM This fight is gonna be jokes
AndersonSilva 01-04-2008, 04:14 PM hey Real Ninja you wanna bet lets do it how much ? ? i got KIMBOOOOO
.Mik. 01-04-2008, 08:02 PM The people promoting Kimbo are ****ing smart. He could realistically win this fight and it'd be a major feather in his cap if he did.
HotSizzle 01-04-2008, 11:52 PM Dam I just heard about this, this is gonna be a really good fight. I got kimbo if anybody wants to bet
Tyson Jones 01-04-2008, 11:54 PM im not a fan either, but its free on showtime so i may watch it.
Champman33 01-05-2008, 03:38 AM Anybody who thinks this is gonna be a good fight is a sucker, look at Tanks last ten fights, he is a shell of his former slef, Kimbo is a Circus act.....

Well it is gonna be a good entertaining fight, but I think you mean anybody who takes this fight seriously is a sucker but other then that it should be good.
FIGHTING_FLIP 01-05-2008, 05:42 AM man i remember when i was little and when ufc first came out ( back when it was all about knockouts, none of this gay dry hump **** like it is now) and tank abott was destroyin cats layin em out cold..but i think this dudes pretty old now and kimbo might be tooo quick for him now..
2swell k-wells 01-05-2008, 10:00 AM circus fight but i will check it out.
Hey why not throw in Fedor vs Akebono to seal the deal??
TheGreatA 01-05-2008, 10:14 AM This card should consist of the following fights:
Main event:
Tank Abbott vs Kimbo Slice
Undercard:
Bob Sapp vs Brock Lesnar
Akebono vs Giant Silva II
James Thompson vs Mark Hunt

I'd buy it. Hell, I'd watch Fedor fight any of those fighters. What can I say?
Bob Sapp vs Big Nog was IMO one of the best MMA fights ever and that was a freak show. No one gave Nogueira any **** for that, I don't see why they give **** for Fedor but those were different times I guess.
Fedor will fight top competition (which is lacking) soon, Barnett, Randy, any of them.

Gareth Ivanovic 01-05-2008, 05:39 PM Elite XC is probably doing a smart thing. They really don't have the superstar fighters, so there trying to promote Slice up to be one of their stars. I don't really think he's gonna be a fighter that challenges the best that are out there, but he's somebody that's going to sell tickets and people are going to tune in to watch. It should be enertaining while it lasts, hopefully it's not as quick and suspicious as the last Pizza Slice fight. Where his opponent seemed to be tapping out before he got hit.

Nog vs Sapp was indeed a great fight but the difference is that those huge guys are the guys Fedor seem to be fighting alot which is stupid, i know Fedor beat Nog and CroCop but thats about it, the rest were low caliber.

Fedor's best wins:
Ricardo Arona (early in their careers),
Renato Sobral (same as Arona),
Semmy Schilt (K-1 world champ),
Heath Herring (at the time top 5),
Big Nog (ranked number 1),
Fujita (not that good but tough),
Goodridge (not that good but Fedor whooped him like no one else),
Coleman (first fight he was still a top fighter),
Randleman (had just KO'd crocop),
CroCop (at the time ranked 2) and
Mark Hunt (at the time was ranked about top 15).
Personally I'd like to see him beat Sylvia, Randy, Gonzaga and Barnett and two of those fights might happen this year (Randy&Barnett).

To Be Honest, Im not impressed.

I definitely know what you mean but the HW division is weak right now. No one has defeated Big Nog yet and that's really what keeps Fedor as the number one.
CroCop looked like s*** and that took a bit out of Fedor's legacy but if Nog manages to beat Sylvia for the HW title... I don't know, it'd be a big blow for the UFC HW division for sure to have a champion who was beaten by another org's champion two times decisively.
2swell k-wells 01-06-2008, 12:24 AM Fedor is ranked #1 in a weak divsion is true.
People mostly look at his undefeated record and watch him beat beast freaks and think he's god. pffffffffffffttt.

well keep in mind Kimbo is only 1-0. (ray mercer bout was an exhibition)
and I really wonder when Kimbo will get an opponent who at the very least is above 500. as far as record goes
because his last opponent was 10-10, and Tank Abbott is 9-13
TheGreatA 01-06-2008, 05:50 PM If Kimbo beats Tank Abbott they should make him fight someone like James Thompson who has a glass jaw but could take him down. After that maybe a big fight with Bob Sapp and then start facing more legit fighters like Ben Rothwell/Antonio Silva.
He isn't young enough to be brought up against total bums but he isn't experienced enough to fight a well-rounded legit MMA fighter.

Yeah Im not saying Kimbo is going to be a great fighter and champion, but he's an internet sensation like Showtime says. I think it's a circus act, but I'll probably watch like many will probably do.
THE REAL NINJA 01-06-2008, 09:22 PM Don't have showtime so i'll have to watch it an hour after it's over on on youtube:sad2:
lennon 01-06-2008, 09:23 PM It will be like this breakdown of the Mercer fight, talked about as a standup toe to toe war but will go straight to ground, kimbo cant punch and has no chin.

Lucky13 01-07-2008, 12:04 AM Tyrone wins this one.
ScrewasideMMA 01-08-2008, 07:03 PM I'll take Kimbo if anyone wants to bet.
blacksky 01-09-2008, 07:51 AM yeah Kimbo is going to win this one, he wont stand and trade, it'll go to the ground...
i see Abbott lying on his face protecting the back of his head, and kimbo hitting him and the referee waving it off.
conditioning will be the key.

This looks like a very good card on paper anyway...Carano, Silva coming off that big submission and Noke vs. Kleinbeck was top fight IMO on the 11/10 card... interested in seeing Noke again
AndersonSilva 01-13-2008, 03:50 PM ill put 100K on KIMBOOOOOOOO lets go anyone 100k to much pm me we can talk
JoeyBB 01-13-2008, 04:04 PM This makes MMA look...uh...really good.
neils7147933 01-14-2008, 01:49 PM I'll take Tank. bets ?
You are aware that Tank has won exactly one fight since 1998?

1bad65 01-14-2008, 02:02 PM This makes MMA look...uh...really good.
Exactly. Crap like this only makes the sport look bad. I love how his handlers are calling this a test and a step up! Like Neils said, Tank has only won 1 fight since 1998. Tank had bad cardio and rarely trained in his prime, and he is way past that. I don't think I've ever seen a guy more protected than Kimbo, but of course Shaw won't risk derailing the gravy train.
I can't fault Kimbo for accepting the money and fighting, but when boxing had a freakshow (Butterbean), they let it be known he was a freakshow.
THE REED™ 01-14-2008, 02:03 PM I'll take Tank. bets ?
i got 5k on kimbo?!
Blair_Wells#32 01-15-2008, 12:45 AM  im hoping tank knocks kimbo into retirement....but he's pretty much 2 old to last more than 2-3 mins tops :banghead:
so i'm doubting a Tank win this fight, way 2 old.
Yes Kimbo is a freak show fighter, and after he's done picking fights with guys who take dives, washed up boxers and an old and way past his prime Tank....he'll probably come onto the chat forums and challenge the posters on these forums.....bring it on Kimbo gon start training with 2Swell 2 get ready for that :boxing:
heres my take on how the fight would go.....
But if I ever was to get in the ring with Kimbo, here's what you might see. Blair comes out to meet Slice, but Slice starts to retreat. If Kimbo back up an inch farther, he'll wind up in a ringside seat. Blair swings with his left. Blair swings with his right. Just look at the kid carry the fight. Slice keeps backin', but there's not enough room. It's only a matter of time before Blair lowers the boom. Blair swings with his right. What a beautiful swing. But the punch lifts Slice clean out of the ring. Slice still rising, and the referee wears a frown 'cause he can't start countin' till Slice comes down. Slice's disappeared from view. The crowd is getting frantic. But our radar stations done picked him up. He's somewheres over the Atlantic. Now, who would've thought, when they came to the fight, they was gonna witness the launching of a black satellite? But don't wait for that fight. It ain't never gonna happen. The onliest thing you can do is wonder and imagine.
:lol1: sorry guys was really bored an jus got through watching Ali.
i'ma b watching and hoping Tank KO's Kimbo.
BennyST 01-15-2008, 04:11 AM Kimbo Slice?! Urgh....
Another BS fight. Although maybe Tank won't be paid to take a dive like the last guy. That was one of the worst dives I've seen lol
Still, Slice has done well for himself. Beating on a bunch of complete chumps over the internet then getting a fight with a 100 year old ex-boxer who could hardly stand up let alone defend a takedown....wasn't that meant to be a stand-up war anyway? I'm positive the whole reason that fight was made was because everyone wanted to see this guy stand up and trade punches with someone who could actually throw one lol
Anyway, could be amusing to watch. Two guys going nuts. Although the same thing will happen now that Slice is training for takedowns. He will go straight for the shoot and become another fighter that promises great exciting stand up brawls but doesn't deliver.
blacksky 01-15-2008, 06:39 AM Tank comes out, tries to throw some bombs but misses... gets taken down referee stops fight

I think Showtime's hoping that people end up liking their product - the undercards with guys like Silva, Noke, and Carano - while they're waiting for the carnival show...

That would only happen if I trained you.
I'd fight kimbo...if I were 50lbs heavier.
Loser shaves their beard, me on the other hand would just have to shave my chin.
neils7147933 01-15-2008, 08:23 AM If Showtime wants to keep making Kimbo look like this giant beast, they should bring Jim Gray in to interview him after his fight...and not Bill Goldberg, who's a head taller and heavier...
