For those who are interested, metal band Meshuggah is out with their new album Nothing and is on tour with Strapping Young Lad. Meshuggah is a ****ing down right kick ass band with killer grooves in odd time. I suggest anyone who likes hardcore metal to pump em up to check this album out!

They are truley in a chategory of their own. Heavy rif***e using 8 string guitars tuned so low it sounds like an earthquake. Their intricate rhythms in odd time signatures give them their distinct sound. They were one of the featured bands at this past year's Ozz Fest.

So, in simpler words, are they dark metal, death metal or doom metal?...or just silly ass experimental rock.

Yes, but I only like "Enthroned darkness thriumphant"...the next CD's are plenty of gay melodies (in the good sense)....
YAY for Satyricon!! try to DL "Nemesis divina2 or "The forest is my throne"...IMO they are the best Satyricon CD's...well I've DLed a clip from the last and sounds good....

See I liek the melodic black and death metal. Could be cause the thrash bands of all the rest of the genres are a dime a dozen. You come to the US and you will see a good band with like 7 hack bands opening up for them and they all mindlessly thrash at thier instuments. The bands that are good with this technique have been spoiled by talentless clone bands and Eastcoast Hardcore bands.

Then Aaron you have to get Anorexia Nervosa...I'm sure you'll like them :)
They are the best melodic Black in my CD collection (well, and Emperor)...

ill check them out.

I did do a search on Dimmu Borgir's name. It means dark fortress. You were right about the volcanic lava cooling. It made caves out of the cool lava in weird looking designs that look creepy. People have disappeared while exploring the Dimmu Borgir. I want to visit it with a team of people.
