Is it any coincidence that the best of the best from Pride have failed to make an impact on the current light heavyweight scene. With the current drug testing?

In tonights appearances Silva and Sok looked flat at the weight, both looked jaded.

Crocop has had the same look since he came over as well.

I think there's been a big difference with all their fighters. They all seem like they dont have a spark of energy to take them to later stage in a fight.

My bro only watches the odd MMA fight, but he watched Wand in the build up to the Chuck fight and said he was a complete beast.

Wanderlei has looked ill ever since he went up to heavyweight to face Hunt and CroCop.

Sokoudjou didn't look that different to me still looked like a beast but Machida knew what he was about unlike Arona and Lil Nog. Remember Soko hasn't gone past the first round.

CroCop looks the same he has always been. Kongo made him look small.

I just finished watching the UFC ACCESS segment that featured Wand's "snorkel" training and it does seem odd that he gassed so easily.

Pride fighters were notorious for using steroids/amphetamine to recover faster from injuries while training, so that they could "train through the pain".

Everyone know that Pride fighters are roided up...well I wouldnt say all, but Wandy most deffinately was. I loved Pride. UFC Jitters perhaps, but you can tell a big diff. in Wandy.

I don't think it is steroids it more like moving from a mansion to a house in the ghetto. That is the reason they all have that look on their faces. I'm just kidding, I think it has more to do with the different atmospheres.

I thought the exact same thing, I knew they were on roids over there making them seem like the best fighters in the world.

I didn't see much difference. Silva, CroCop and Sokoudjou to me looked pretty much the same.

Silva has been past it for over a year now after the CroCop fight and failed HW run.

CroCop came to the UFC for money and seemed unmotivated in his fights, perhaps underestimating the opposition. He didn't seem used to the cage either, both Gonzaga and Kongo used this against him to win their fights.

Sokoudjou has never been past the first round in his fighting career. Machida knew what he was going to face and handled him quite easily.

Shogun said he barely trained for the fight because he was injured and didn't take Forrest all too seriously and because of that ran out of stamina in the first round.
