Semmy Schilt could be on his way back to the Ultimate Fighting Championship. The Dutch giant recently clocked up another K-1 title and has hinted he is looking to a return to MMA.

In an interview with FightHype.com, Schilt was asked what the chances were of a fight between him and Tim Sylvia. Schilt replied:

“My manager and K-1 are trying to work out a deal with the UFC to make this fight (against Sylvia) happen. I am ready to get back into the Octagon.”

The fight would make a lot of sense for all involved. Semmy Schilt is a K-1 legend, recently adding to his title collection by winning K-1: World Grand Prix 2007 Final. He has a mixed record in MMA, but has fought some of the biggest names in the sport. The UFC is short on Heavyweight talent and Tim Sylvia is in the title mix. His preference for stand up would make him an ideal match up for Schilt, who is also one of the few fighters who is taller than Sylvia.

The UFC Heavyweight division lacks the two biggest names in the sport: Fedor Emelianenko and recently departed Randy Couture. It would make a lot of sense for them to add someone like Semmy Schilt, who would bring a following with him, including a large number of fans in the Far East.

If true how much of an impact would he have?
