View Full Version : 100% correct boxing technique?
SerbianKO 12-27-2007, 06:20 PM My friend wants to know how to learn 100% correct and proper boxing technique, but he has no money to join any boxing gym...? He has a heavy bag at home and he has been practicing on it for few months, but his technique is not good...how can he, as a self learning guy, learn proper boxing :boxing: technique?? please leave your comments and advices...thanks
Count Patron 12-27-2007, 06:22 PM That's like saying how can someone teach him or herself to have a perfect golf swing without lessons... one can only go so far. Buy some books, watch a lot of video and try to imitate, but really he will only get it so much.

i agree... maybe my question should be: how can he improve his quality as much as he can?
Tell him to get a job so he can sign up at a gym, otherwise your view on correct boxing technique usualy ends up a terrible bad habbit
SerbianKO 12-28-2007, 08:20 AM he is 17y.o. his parents are poor, and he can't get a job, he is very strong 185cm,93kg, 115kg bench press, he looks like a tank, but i can beat him because his technique is weak.. i can only show him basics, but how can he improve by himself as much as he can...(with his strength, if he learns proper technique he could be good boxer...)
Fidayin 12-28-2007, 08:45 AM Can't you ask ur coach to train him for free?
How much do you pay a month for boxing lessons at your gym?
SpeedKillz 12-28-2007, 09:20 AM i think i know who ur friend is....
get to a gym man, ur not gonna learn **** without a good trainer and all ur gonna do is develop terrible habits that are near impossible to break. no one is gonna give "100% correct boxing technique" for 2 reasons.
1 - this is an internet forum
2 - there is no such thing unless u get trained hours and hours and hours by a qualified trainer.
get a job, join a gym. period!
SerbianKO 12-28-2007, 09:43 AM nah man...my friend is my friend and i am i, don't mix up that...i don't pay because i'm competing in amateur boxing, and because i was amareur champ few years ago...none coach if he is good will teach for free, and in serbia there are not many good coaches that will work for free...

Serbia is different from other countries there could be no job even for people who got a PhD.
All I could say you could teach him the basic jab and different type of jabs which is a good start.
the rest is for him to develop more in conditioning and phyiscal part because even though tech. helps but also if he becoming pretty strong and fast sometimes it help alot
