The prodigy. BJ Penn.

Of right now, Anderson Silva

In the history of MMA i would say Rickson Gracie

LOL, yeah, agreed, considering his 11-4-1 record, including losses to Jens Pulver and losses to the two best fighters he's faced.

We're asking for the best, not the one with most potential.

The answer is Fedor, Anderson Silva is climbing that ladder quickly though.

Based on what do you rate Rickson that high? His 11-0 record against nobodies?

He was a better version of Royce Gracie, in other words just a grappler. Someone like Chuck Liddell with a good takedown defense and standup would destroy him.

Hard to say.

Best P4P Active Fighter is Anderson and best Inactive fighter in my opinion is Fedor.

sorry bout that my brother posted under my name.

i'd have 2 best P4P of all time I'd say Rickson Gracie, no question.
rickson in his prime would beat fedor imho.
just no way anyone last on the ground against him.

nowadays i'd say its a toss up between GSP and Anderson Silva.
or
as a wild card i'll even throw in Matt Serra, yup i said Matt Serra, proved he can knock someone out on his feat an sure as hell can handle himself on the ground, if he keeps trainin the way he's been trainin i think he'll reclaim his belt an hold it for awhile.

Such a young crazy sport to really agree on one person.
No way its Penn, and not Fedor. Not yet anyway. Like it or not Liddell gets a mention, for me Frank Shamrock, and A Silva.

That's like saying Vitor Belfort is the best because of what he is capable of doing. No one should doubt the Fedor is the p4p best!

Like I had mentioned before, this is a hard debate cause what do you want to base our decisions on? Past fight performances or of individuals these so called best P4P fighters have beaten? Or perhaps it is on their popularity or how much money they can draw to pay-per-view dollars?

For me, I based my decisions on the following: Performance and consistency to win!

Those two fighters were matt hughes and GSP, both guys that are much bigger then Penn.

the GSP bout is also highly disputed. And Penn was beating the **** out of hughes. He came into the ring with a broken rib.

But nice try, Peetie.

Anderson Silva no doubt, he's the first real UFC/mma star. Fedor is good but I'm sure he's beatable, all his competition is slow though.

**** fedor, hope his ranking goes down with his small competition in m1.

But nice try, Peetie.Dumb ****, he broke his rib in the second round, he didn't come into the ring with it.

Nobody who can score a fight scored it for Penn against GSP either.

And still, what has he done to prove he is the best besides lose to bigger fighters?

There is a rumour that he came into the ring with that.

Also a rumour that he took the fight on short notice. Actually it is not a rumour, it's FACT.

Get a life, Pete.

Too much time on boxing forums is ruining your brain. 28 posts per day on here, and on countless other forums. You probably average 40 posts a day, son.

Get out and experience life a little!!

The Gracie family are the best past fighters, but now its a toss up between GSP , Anderson Silva and Rampage Jackson.

The best ever is Fedor due to the level of competition he has defeated.

A lot of people seem to be overrating Anderson Silva. He is up there for the best p4p now, but the best ever. Come on Frank Shammrock must be infront of him. I think Dan Henderson and maybe even Mat Lindland would push him all the way.

As for the best now, a few that come to mind are Anderson Silva, GSP (even though he lost to Serra), Rampage (deserves a mention due to his last 2 wins) and Kid Yamamoto is supposed to be class but i dont think i have seen him enough to shout his cause.

Mark Hunt, Mark Coleman x 2, Nog x 2, Crocop, Kazuyuki Fujita, Gary Goodridge, Semmy Schilt, Ricardo Arona, Renato Sobral, Heath Herring, Tsuyoshi Kohsaka.....and others.

The thread is asking on the best ever, not the best over the last year.

Hong Man Choi would beat most in the heavyweight division by the way.

your all fools....Fedor plus Anderson Silva are in Weak Divisions. There is no way A.Silva would be able to hang with the 205lbs guys...niether would Fedor...Because we all know the man can make weight, he would get beat by one of the UFC LHWs.....Big UFC fan but not a nuthugger, that is just where the top fighters are right now ya heard.

Ok, that's cool. but who do you think is? I see it like this....I know it is totally different, but it's just to prove a point..cool beans?

In the dog world, it has been said the Rottweiler is "pound-4-pound" the ultimate fighting dog. Stronger than the Akita, with a greater "lbs per square inch" bite than any Terrier, EXCEPT, the Red line American Pitt Bull. The agility of the Pitt makes for an under approach to lock on the Rottweilers throat.

That is a known fact. I Ain't saying the Pitt will "ALWAYS" lock on the Rottweiler, but 8 times out 10...The Pitt Bull is P4P.

Ken Shamrock = American Red Nose Pitt Bull.

This guy has took out some good competition and one day will no doubt be classed as one of the all time greats

But at present he is only 2 wins and 2 losses in UFC title fights. I think its a little early to be calling him the best p4p fighter ever.

Yes He did lose...who doesnt? At least he fought tougher competition than Fedor has. If Fedor fights more Top Fighters, i might respect him more.

I can't say Fedor or really any heavyweight fighter for that matter cause quite frankly I don't find any of those guys to be nearly as skilled as the lower weight divisions. The list of guys you listed for Fedor even though I haven't watched alot of his fights isn't that damn impressive.
