Apart from the usual **** you know you'll miss (friends, family, etc):
- Sam Newman (even though I don't watch footy, he's a funny cunt and makes me laugh hard) & The Footy Show.
- Home and Away (I will having something to laugh at, especially at my mum's expense over the dinner table with my dad)
- Souvlaki and fish and chip shops (not many Americans know wtf a souv is, let alone how good they are or what real fish and chips are)
- Real pizza (without paying $1.50 per topping)
- Wogs (I grew up with them, and now they're gone. Hell they don't even have their own culture out there it seems. No trackie dacks, bling bling jewelry and trappings, no Commodore's with pumping 2,000 subbies in the back doing doughie's out the front of the local Maccer's at midnight to impress the chickie babes, no souvlaki shops, no fish and chips shops, no Guido's Pizza shops... *sniff*).
- Chapel St (there's so many cool shops there, nice scenery, etc)
- Public transport (yes it exists here. does not in LA)
- Laid back people (Tony and Dogg being notable exceptions, everyone else gets stressed out so easily over the littlest things)
- Calling people by racist nicknames and laughing at each other (see previous point)
- Easy access to roleplaying game stores (trying to find one in LA County is an exercise in futility).
- Same with finding safe drivers (see previous point)
- Being able to drink without being considered an alcoholic (the American definition of alcoholic and our version appears to be to very very different things)
- Video stores with decent size Anime/Manga sections (and being on good enough terms to get late fees wiped 9 times out of 10 rather than being called up by some ******y machine and told to pay).
- Oma (my grandmother. I don't think I'll see her again in this lifetime once I leave and she really is the glue which held my dad's family together)
It's amazing what you realise you will miss when you really dwell on it.
