What do you use for your roadwork? Like ipod, wrist weights, weighted vest, your everlast tracksuit. etc.
Also, is it true that ankle weights can **** your knees up?

Thanks.

Mouthpiece and a beanie with my gyms name on it.

No shirt, no shoes, no ipod. Doesn't matter the weather, be it 30 degrees out or 100 degrees out, I still run the same. If its too cold, I run faster.

Ankle weights **** up your hamstrings where they connect to the back of your knee.

ipod nano with locking headset (i just hate it when ur earplugs fall out when you speed up) and a normal sweat suit with an old pair of nike air max shoes. I went 5 miles with a 20 lbs weighted vest last week and my legs felt crushed. I used to run shorter distances last summer and had no problems, but I really wouldn't recommend using any weighted gear when running.

Shorts, pair of my Highschool Sweat pants, long sleeve shirt from baseball and a doo up hoodie. I just wear a pair of old shoes and listen to my mp3 player.

Weather forecast for 5 AM tomorrow: mid-30's F with mixed rain and snow.

My running gear for winter:

silk long john bottoms

polypro warm-up bottoms

Coldgear compression shirt

Woolrich wool overshirt

Smartwool socks

New Balance running shoes

black wool watchcap, military-issue, the heavy-duty one you get at surplus stores for $3

microfleece-lined deerskin gloves, treated with waterproofing weekly

10,000 mm waterproof, 3-layer breathable ultralight rain shell -- THE most expensive piece of exercise equipment I own; around $350.

Edit: I don't use an iPod or headphones of any sort. Ever. Too easy to lose myself in the music and fall off a bridge, get attacked by a dog I didn't hear coming, get hit by a car or a bicyclist, etc. Maybe it's the hunter in me, but IMO you would have to be nuts to even WALK down a pitch-dark street with half your situational awareness shot to hell; much less RUN down one.

just about anything is good....it's the footwear thats most important. The Nike Shox Turbo Oz and the Turbo OH are perfect.......crazy light and comfortable.
It's crazy cold out here right now, so currently i do sweat pants, scully, T-Shirt, hoodie, and football jersey and of course the Shox and ipod mini.

I was gonna put some shox on my xmas list so i can get serious with all this running ****. What are the main benefits in them as appose to normal running shoes?

Thanks everyone for all your responses.
