Even though a lot of people are going to say hes not worthy. Its the most recognised and oldest belt. He is a world champion. No one can say he is not.

He fought well and looks a force at light heavy. Although Drews fought like a praying Mantus.

I think Green's best was during the 1st Beyer fight in 2003.
This world title in Perth seemed to me more like a regional title than a world title.

Green is definantly worthy. He has had a long hard road to a world ranked belt, considering he was robbed of one earlier in his career. There have been plenty of opportunities for him to fall off the path and lose faith, but he has kept on going like the fighter he is. He has always rocked up lean and mean and in incredible shape, always pressed the fight, he's succeeded with raw will. Champ!

You have to give Drews credit though.He fought a real tough fight. Went toe to toe the whole night, and showed what courage, determination and heart he has.
Too bad he lost the title.
Oh well, he gave it his best, and can't really blame him.
He did his country very proud.

Green looked pretty stiff in the ring and would have had trouble with Traver. I think Green should cash in his retirement Cheque and fight Mundine, but he won't beat Mundine, he'll just walk away with a big payday.

Interesting thoughts. I think the same. But my Australian traits kick in. And i give full credit to Danny Green. He has deserved this for a while. Im glad hes a world champion mate.

I heard briggs calling the fight on Friday night and he sound a touch punch drunk. Green won't fight Briggs.

Firstly, Congrats to Danny Green on winning WBA Light Heavy Title! Drews has to go down as one of the worst EVER LHW Champ in the history of Boxing. Drews was a 'Garbage' Champion after last night's display as defending champion. This guy ran and ran all fight long and knew that if he stood toe to toe with Green he would get bashed to a pulp! Drews is the most 'Natural' of losers. He threw a couple of pissy jabs that a 15 year old could have taken and was headlocking Danny when Danny got in the war zone to trade with the bastard! After last Monday's dissapointing fight I was expecting to see some fireworks last night but to no avail. Drews should never be allowed to fight for a any Title EVER and should receive a 12 month ban from the sport of Boxing. Even Danny and the ref was imploring Drews to throw them and stop running!

Makes me ashamed to be australian that people actually buy that Green won this fight fair and square when you can tell Drews was paid off to throw it.
As soon as he Gets cautioned for inactivity lands a beautiful 3 punch combo the same way he would have schooled danny all night if the fight was a legitimate contest and why would he give a hoot about getting DQed when he was throwing Rabbit punches and other fouls early on in the fight and tried to get DQed in the Briggs fight.Someone had money on Green via decision and you could tell by the big grin on his face afterwards.
