Will anyone ever be thought of as better then the two by the mass of boxing fans and media ?
As it stands it seems that no one is allowed to even mention a current or recently retired fighter name in the same sentence without backlash.

Good point. I think a lot of people respect their legacy.

Nope.

Less $, less belts, more fights, and more rds in the old days.

No fighter today currently active can become GOAT imo.

I don't think any fighter is touchin SRR. And doubtful any HW can get close to achievin the status that Ali did.

To add to that, to become worthy of comparison, modern fighters need similarly high-ranked opponents, ATG-wise on their resumes.

SRR and Ali had high ranked ATG's for lunch. Modern fighters could only dream of such competition.

Yea I don't see any HW's reachin the same plateau cuz the division is dead right now. It might be anotha decade before it heats up enuf to produce any legendary fighters.

And SRR is all but untouchable legacy wise.
