Im just curious as to how far Haumono could go as a heavyweight?

I watched him last night. He has great speed. His technique is good. And his power, well its second to none. His right hands are vicious when he decides to unload.

I really think this guy can go places.

He turned Pro back in 2000 and hasn't made dent in the world Scene. He'll do well fighting retire bouncers, but he won't be a world Champ.

Let's see. He fought a guy last night with a record of 8-6-1, and your already rating him that highly.
Just because he represents Australia, doesn't mean he is world class. You have to be realistic.
It's unlikely he will go very far on the world stage.
It's not that easy to be the best in the sport as some people make it out to be.

But you have to admit he has a massive sledgehammer right. I just want to see him in some free flowing exchanges against a good heavyweight. That will give me a good indication. Apparently no one wants to fight him though, hes to big of a risk for them thats why hes fighting rsl fighters?

He has pretty decent fundamentals and great power but he needs to step it up in class asap, if he has to head to the US to get fights, so be it. He isn't that old for a heavyweight he's only early 30's so time is still on his side. I believe he was meant to fight Colin Wilson on the Mundine undercard but Wilson backed out and instead opted to fight Green's Ukrainian sparring partner instead on the Green undercard.

Sure, the guy can punch, but if he doesn't catch you in the early rounds, he'd get tired and be open and waiting for a decent counter punch.

Considering he was a professional rugby league player I'd say he has some pretty decent endurance, but it remains to be seen because no one has taken him the distance yet, it's pure speculation at this point.

He also has the best trainer in Australia in his corner in Johnny Lewis & Lewis has stated that he would have no problems going the distance.

Like I said before, he needs to step it up in class and then we'll see how good he really is.

Doing the distance is a lot different than actually training to go the distance. Look how fit Hatton looked and was, he still got tired. And in Ruby League, you don't have to be that fit, just have a look at Parramatta's hooker. Boxing is a hell of a lot different conditioning wise than League, I wouldn't even compare them.

There was an interesting article on him in yesterdays paper. It said he wants to fight Mirovic or Wilson. But they don't want to fight him so he will likely go overseas.

I could beat Mirovic, that's not test for him. He needs to get himself over to the USA if he's serious.

So you are making an assumption that he will gas based on what exactly?

You don't think that Australia's greatest trainer ever would actually train him to be fit enough to go the full 12 rounds?

How long have you been following Boxing??? going 12 rounds in a real fight is nothing like training, you can't train for it, it's called match fitness.

You need to watch a few more fights.

Good question. They might actually be a threat to him. He'll get exposed sooner than later.

Meehan and Solomon both possess that sledgehammer like right. They Wind it up. I think that would be an interesting fight.

I have to give credit to Kali Meehan. Not credit, but say the guy is outstanding. He beat Lamon Brewster, but got robbed.
When was the last time an aussie HW beat a top HW boxer?I can't believe the guy is that good, even though he got beat later on by Rahman.

What is with the condescending crap? I've come on here for a reasonable discussion and made some fairly reasonable points in my mind and have asked you a question that once again you've failed to respond to. I'll ask it again:

What exactly leads you to believe that this guy will run out of gas in a fight?

I'm aware training obviously isn't the same as an actual fight and I've watched plenty of fights and have been following the sport for over 10 years. Just because I've never posted here doesn't mean I have no clue.

way to come across as an *******.

Dude don't even compare the fitness of a boxer to the fitness of a Ruby League Player. You've got know Idea if your comparing both, I've played both sports and unlike league you don't get a ****ing rest.

BYT great use of the english language there with all your post.

fine, ill write in proper english since you cant read sms writing.

its hard to compare boxers and ruby players in fitness man. u put ruby player in the ring, he'll gas out in round 1. u put a boxer in the field, n take a few takes tackles by front rowers they'll be tired from that massive burst of energy or there shoulders might pop out.

boxers and ruby players train for different things, and if u played both sport u should know that. also, i just hate it when people brushes other athletes training and condition compared to another thing like a piece of ****.
