View Full Version : Los Angeles, California is now officially considered:
DOGGx0 05-01-2003, 10:55 PM THE MURDER CAPITAL OF THE WORLD!
I was watching the news the other day... more lives have been taken by murder in Los Angeles than New York which is 2 times the size of Los Angeles, along with more murdered in Los Angeles than the war we have been fighting for the last month. That is ****ing sad, horrible.... and I for one living here feel VERY ****ing ashamed.
What can I say? Weeeez gaaaangstaaa!!!
WESSST- SIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIDE!!! :killyou:

seldomTap 05-01-2003, 11:06 PM Did they break them down into economic groups? For instance, is there a higher incidence of murders in black or hispanic areas compared to the wealthy parts of LA?
Things are tougher for different groups I guess...
My town is known for a high murder rate and a high incidence of paedophilia

LA is huge. LA is ghetto. There are some nice parts.... the nice parts are within the bad parts. Weird to explain. No ethnic groups, bro. LA we got everything.... black, mexican, asian, white, middle eastern, etc.
Ie: you go to San Fernando Valley in Los Angeles and there are more asians there than anywhere else.... still got mad meixans and blacks though.
Go to Los Angeles (The City) and you we see maaad blacks and mexicans.
And of course you have your white people... you will ALWAYS have your white people scattered up in the mix. There are always gonna be white people somewhere. Either they are being white or trying to be every other race I just named off. Its truly sad.
seldomTap 05-02-2003, 12:23 AM So what your saying is that there isn't a particular part where you could say "****, don't go there, you will get murdered"...it could happen anywhere?
Sweet, when can I move in?
seldomTap 05-02-2003, 12:25 AM Not that just cause a place has blacks and mexicans am I saying you are likely to be killed. Over history, white folks have killed more than anyone, their is lots of blood on our honky hands
VulgarTheClown 05-02-2003, 12:47 AM I would be proud to live in the murder capital of the US
Animal Man 05-02-2003, 01:37 AM First of all, Los Angeles isn't "THE MURDER CAPITAL OF THE WORLD" you goofs! New Orleans is!!! Do your homework people.
Second of all, LA ain't ****!!! I mean the people in Compton (a ghetto in LA) live in houses with backyards and ****...LOL!!! That's not a ghetto man, that's a "Hollywood ghetto."
The real ghettos are in New York City...I mean the people in Brooklyn (the ghetto parts) live in filthy buildings...they live in one-room shacks and ****!! Now that's a ghetto!!!
Peace.
realkaps 05-02-2003, 01:41 AM I love when New York people come to Cali, get punked out in the Valley, its not even close to being like LA and they are scared to death......
Curly Howard 05-02-2003, 01:47 AM I live in the Midwest (Ralph *****m voice)
The Jake 05-02-2003, 02:04 AM Great thing to be telling me when I'm in the middle of moving here Dogg. I'll be sure to tell my parents this when I board the plane.
Is that on a per capita basis or what? How is this calculated?
Over what length of time?
Seldom - the biggest thing I can say that I saw in LA as opposed to here is the level of segregation. Different ethnic groups really do segregate themselves into isolated neighborhoods and if you're the wrong color going through the wrong neighborhood, you're ****ed.
Out here we have some segregation (like Oakleigh = wog central, Springvale = asian county, etc) but there's enough cohesion and multicultural mixture that we blend in well together. I mean for the most part, asians are generally more segregated than any other ethnic group IMHO, but everyone (including the Asians) generally makes inroads to mixing in well.
In America, the segregation is just so distinctive with these invisible boarders, it makes it very hard for people to try and cross it and start dealing with each other. They get pressure from both sides, you know? I think the situation is improving (I'm guessing here) but it's not going to be for many generations I think until real inroads are made. I think that Black Americans will be amoung the first (at least based on stuff I read). But Hispanics and other ethnic groups will prolly have a long way to go. This is just my impression though and really not all that educated. So take what I'm saying with a grain of salt.
It's kind of sad really, that given the principles that America was founded on, you'd hope for greater equality. Yet, I honestly greater equality in many ways is found in our little former penal colony island :) Prolly coz all the inmates have to mix it up eh?

LA, as of right now... and for the years of 2002 and 2003 are recorded as having the highest amount of murders in the whole ****ing country for one region. MORE THAN THE WAR WE ARE CURRENTLY IN. We ain't talkin about back when Master P and the NO LIMIT crew were kickin it drinkin 40z bein' bout it bout it, slangin coke on in a ****in street alley in between crack houses.
2ndly... Compton ain't ghetto? sheeit... roll down Slauson and Crenshaw, lol. Now which is it gonna be?? New Orleans or New York? You start off talkin about murda murda murda up in Orlenes.... what about NY?
I think you were a little confused when you posted your reply, and had to make the cool "hoods" you have passed through with your "homies" look even better than LA. What else do you wanna brag about? I mean........ you are already cool, friend. :)
no.
Animal Man 05-02-2003, 05:38 AM I mention New Orleans as being the 'murder capital' of the world, and you automatically assume that I'm a Master P fan? You need to get a life little boy! You might listen to that homo, but not me.
Oh by the way, I checked up on the matter and found out that Washington DC regains the 'murder capital' title for 2003.

Rock Dog 05-02-2003, 04:44 PM Hmm well i'drather live in a warm sunny place w/ lots of hot hos than where 'm at now, winter ****ing sucks in pensylvania. And i'd rather live in an area w/ a high murder rate than high peodephilia rate, anyday. Where do u live Seldom, I know australia, but where? Also I thin it is msotly non white groups and hispanics doing most the murder. Blacks epsecially because they tend to have less struure in their society. And The Jake, i think Mexicans and other Hispanic groups will intigrate much faster then blacks and asias because they're jsut anothe white immigraton wave. Irish, Germans, Italians and slavs were never thought to intertwine in america but look at it now.

True but I think that blacks given their history as slaves, have had to contend with a lot more culturally and I think in the past few generations we're seeing a lot more prominent black Americans arising to positions of influence, fame and success. I think this sets precedents for others to strive to better themselves. I think I remember reading something about more black lawyers and doctors and professional white collar (no pun intended) workers coming out of universities today than ever before.
I think this goes a long way to proving adjusting the attitude of those who hold the attitude that the white Americans are trying to "keep darky down" - for the better.
Out here, Greeks, Italians and Germans did form their own groups but they worked very very hard to integrate themselves into society. My own grandparents escaped Germany after WWII. Apart from being put into camps and ****, they had to work their ****ing arses off just to get by, and they had to learn the language whislt they were out here. It wasn't easy but they did it.
The only people I know of who didn't bother to learn the language in this generation were those who were so old (ie. over 65+) that it was extremely difficult for them to do so, and moved out here so their families could take care of them in their twilight years.
Today you got entire boatloads of immigrants, largely asians I hate to say (Indonesian, Chinese, Vietnamese, Cambodian, etc.) who rock up and don't make any effort to learn the language. And often because they live in large family communities, often consisting of 10 people or more, they can often rort the system to their benefit. A good example is of Asian cab drivers. One family member will get a cab and a cab license and a drivers license. Then when that person is sleeping the other family members will use the same cab, even if they are unlicensed or unregistered drivers, and work that car, 24/7 to make money. This is just one example and certainly not a rule. But from my experience I've seen and witnessed more of this than I care to. That said, most of the Asian families I've met are harder working than any other ethnic group (including all those I went to high school with and uni with).
The segregation issue out here though is getting better with each subsequent generation however. Especially in how some areas they outnumber us "white folk" LOL. But the issues we face with segregation seem to be very very different to what America faces.
For instance, I could buy a house in Springvale and whilst I might be uncomfortable, it would be ok. But I'd have to be a ****ing moron to buy a house in Inglewood, CA.
The pattern from what I'm seeing is that latino families seem to have a very similar pattern to some of the asian families I've seen out here. They live in large families. I suspect their pool their incomes like the asians do (only asians are extremely smart with how they use their money IMHO). Whilst they work their guts out, they still segregate their communities and large portions of them do not bother to learn the language of the country.
This, is a concern because if they've had more time to integrate than say, Asians in our communities, why haven't they done so?
I can only presume it relates back to what I said before about USA having different concerns with interracial integration.
However, because blacks have been more vocal in their demand for equality and recognition I believe they will be ahead of the latinos in this regard. Given time, perhaps the latinos will. But they've had a greater history within America -- much, much longer, than say the Asian countries have here in Australia. And already we're getting past that within a couple of generations...
