You fooled me. I thought it was going to be Frazier vs Norton & Frazier vs Lyle.
I think JF beats Patterson by decision.

Sonny Liston. What an under rated monster! In this fight, I can see him doing to Frazier what Foreman did, only taking a little longer to do it, say 9-10 round TKO. Brutal slobberknocker of a fight though!

Joe Frazier vs Sonny Liston is one of the fights I most wished would have happened. 2 of my very favorite fighters.

why did they never happen?

They were both retired..
Sonny might have been around still but he was at the tail end and was fighting for $100 a pop in small clubs.

Patterson had very bad back problems for most of his carrer and had one last shot as Ali was coming up and that endded it.

I personally feel Joe would have smothered Patterson and tagged him in the end. Patterson was a great fighter, but if Johannson was able to floor him, I must hold that Smoke would ultimately wear him out with the relentless attack.

Liston would beat Frazier. The power was greater, and Sonny had an 82" (?) reach, a piston like jab. He'd have kept the jab in Frazier's face, and then KO'd him in a manner similar for Foreman's job.

My 2 cents if you brother's care to heed them.

Pretty much but I think the Patterson fight wouldn't last 4 rounds and Frazier might win over Liston but you're right on with what it would most likely look like.

patterson vs frazier should have happened. patterson beat jimmy ellis to win back the title but he was robbed and ellis got the decision. if patterson had been given the fight he would have had a unification fight against frazier. by this point though patterson was past his prime and would have lost. A young patterson would have given frazier some trouble.

Patterson was so quick, but I dont think he would have been able to withstand the attack Joe would come with.
