This would be a great fight! I can see Frazier knocking down Louis early in the fight, but Louis would come back to win by SD.

Really I don't know, but a lot of writers have said pressure fighters bothered Louis more than anything; certainly he didn't fight anything like Frazier. Terry A 12-07-2007, 03:27 PM At first glance, automatically you would think that the all time great Joe Louis beats the much beloved Joe Frazier. But if you think about this match up, and remember that "styles make fights", then ask yourself this question. Who was the better fighter, Joe Frazier or Tony Galento? If 2 ton Tony was able to drop Louis, what would that hook that hit Jimmy Ellis and Muhammad Ali do? Also, keep in mind that Frazier got up every time he was ever knocked down. That man just keeps coming and coming. Talk about pressure! Wow! Something else, their weights would be real close to each other. No David vs Goliath match up here. Also, look how close Frazier kept his three fights with Ali. Ali certainly didn't dominate him at all, so the idea of outboxing him holds little validity. I think Joe Louis was the over all better fighter. But in this particular match up, I think Joe Frazier would be a very dangerous opponant for Louis. My pick is....Joe would win! He will be all over Louis from the first bell and will continue to apply pressure for as long as he is able to stand. res 12-08-2007, 12:20 AM Can't choose but i think Louis could do better than people think. ALPHA O`MEGA 12-08-2007, 12:44 AM joe louis.joe was probably as big a puncher if not bigger than foreman, his hands were faster as well, joe ko in the first.there is no feeling out in this fight. phallusy 12-08-2007, 03:43 AM i'm not so sure about this, joe louis is the greatest hw of all time, he hand fast hands, perfect technique, power but smokin joe frazier had the style to beat him. louis hates pressure fighters, rocky marciano pressured and knocked out an old louis, frazier fought the same as marciano but threw more punches. i think i agree with the guy that said if louis can't get rid of frazier early he'll have smokin joe all over him. the swarmer ( frazier ) is the worst style for a pure boxer ( ali ) or a boxer - puncher ( louis ) THE REAL NINJA 12-09-2007, 01:44 PM Frazier knocks him out in the first fight.... Louis comes back and scores a late TKO or points win in the 2nd fight... Frazier gets a late hail marry ko in the 3rd fight. res 12-09-2007, 02:27 PM i'm not so sure about this, joe louis is the greatest hw of all time, he hand fast hands, perfect technique, power but smokin joe frazier had the style to beat him. louis hates pressure fighters, rocky marciano pressured and knocked out an old louis, frazier fought the same as marciano but threw more punches. i think i agree with the guy that said if louis can't get rid of frazier early he'll have smokin joe all over him. the swarmer ( frazier ) is the worst style for a pure boxer ( ali ) or a boxer - puncher ( louis ) yeah but i think Marciano was harder to hit than Frazier. vBulletin® v3.7.1, Copyright ©2000-2008, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
