I think Holmes knew that Page & Thomas each had very good jabs. Page's was more a fast flick that built the points and Thomas's was a poor man's Sonny Liston type jab, and remember how Norton stayed competitive with Holmes because of his jab.
The jab always bothered Holmes more than the big right hands.

Its a difficult fight for holmes thru like the one against witherspoon, but i'd say holmes still wins over Page W12. larry hasnt scored a knockout since he mercifully stopped gerry cooney. he really wanted to have a KO victory in a while thats why he opted to fight scott frank and marvis frazier.
