I will say that musically it is better than their hardcore predecessors. But I can’t put my finger on it, something’s not right with it.

Maybe im being over critical.

But I do think the latter half of the cd is better.

They also have various EP's, and Vinyl's but I don't own any. But I do however have all of their albums and have bought each one right when they come out.

Their first four albums sparked my interest and I got very caught up with their evolution of sound. However when I heard The Art of Drowning I was shocked at how well they could transition themselves from typical punk, into the slow-mysticism of a new hybrid that I had never heard before. Then once more with their latest album, Sing The Sorrow, they shocked me again and once more changed their sound into something greater than the last.

Though their sound is ever changing, their individualistic expression and emmotion poses to be that of true artistic ability. True art is never constant, but rather molding and forming itself into pretty much everything around us. There is no ultimate singular deffinition because of the simple fact that every wonderful artistic expression is that of constant change and formation of the human psych.. a mirror of ourselves, of our conscious and our unconscious; which is likewise, never constant and singular.

AFI has done what most bands are too afraid to do. They have made bold moves in their carreer which have made them grow into something awsome. Instead of pursuing what others want, they have dug deep inside of themselves and have searched for who they are and what they are capable of as spiritual human beings.

So to make it short and sweet, I'm very impressed with not only the sound and structure of songs in the album Sing The Sorrow.. but also of the evolution and artistic ability that they have proved to everybody to have.

I am liking the new album but i find it to be a bit soft compaired to art of drowning and black sails.

those 2 are my fav.
