Actually, I don't know much about crop circles. But the theory of eternal recurrence goes a little something like this: Take a small collection of things, say the words in the sentence "Here is a small sentence." Feed them into a computer and instruct it to randomly reaarange the words-the results being something like, "is sentence small here a." Now suppose the computer were to repeat this process over and over. The ouput might look something like this:

1)here is a small sentence
2)is a sentence here small
3)small here is a sentence
4)a here is sentence small
5)sentence a small here is

...And so on and so on.

Now let's say the computer kept mixing up the words into infinity. Obviously at some point it will start repeating itself since there are only 120 possible permutations of the 5 words. What's more, given that it's got infinity to work on this little project, the computer must ultimately get around to repeating those same 5 permutations in the same exact order. That is sequence 1-5 will recur or "return", and in fact will do so over and over again so long as the process goes on for eternity. That is what Nietsche meant when he came up with the doctrine of " eternal reccurence". Think of the computer as the universe, and the words as organisms. That is why life is sure to be replicated somewhere else and why we'll soon be bangin' some alien booty.....
