I thought he did decent work on the ground, Ben was bleeding so of course we know Tom landed a clean shot to the nose.

AND the guy wont QUIT:o!! put him in a submission and he wont tap, crazy ****ing farm boi.

:nonono: he don't have any punching power it seems, he had Warmachine Full Mount and was hittin him with what seemed like lil girl punches....
he can't finish, last nights fight all he did was lay on top of Saunders for 2 rounds....Saunders did more work from the bottom than Speers did from the top (another mma scoring flaw)
but he does have alot of heart and has great takedowns, unless he finds a good camp i don't see him doin much else other than becoming another Josh Koscheck(Blanket)

those are some good points...

a lot of these strong wrestlers/strikers get farther than the bjj/streetfighting
...MAtt Hughes, Tito Ortiz, Randy Cotoure, Rashad Evans, Chuck Liddell, Koscheck had his moment...let's face it MMA can easily be dominated by ground and pounders- strong wrestling backgrounds - slams and take down - striking and dirty boxing....Tommy Speers fits easily into these fighting styles...and he has a lot of heart...

i just hope he doesn't get into a camp that throws BJJ and submissions in his face 24/7...because the fundamentals shouldn't be neglected for a style that doesn't fit everyone...

Tommy's a beast on the ground, he just needs to become more versatile. If this guy was explosive and had a decent ground n pound, it would be very tough to submit or beat him period...unless the ref ****s him over.

Speer is a BEAST, period. But he really needs to learn some skills....he isnt very good and those elbows he throws are pitiful...painful to watch.

Yea they don't look as crisp as Tito's elbow strikes...but I bet they still hurt...
I hope he doesn't get pulled out like Matt Hamil did for an injury cuz I think Hamill was ready to tear up Bisping that season...

speaking of which...when the heck is the Hamil-Bisping rematch???

Hamill is trainin yet an was hoping 2 get onto the 79 fight card against Bisping but Bisping didn't wanna wait an extra month an took the rashad fight.
hopefully Hamill will b back around january or february for the superbowl weekend card.
i don't think he should fight Bisping though, since he clearly won the fight, i'm hoping they give Hamill Rashad Evans.

yea Hamill has been getting the least hype and credit for what he's worth as a UFC fighter while Bisping is way over-hyped and maybe over-rated....Evans and Hamil is a good fight...but how many fights has Hamil had on UFC...not as much as Evans and Bisping...this has to be all on Dana...

I think Hamil will come out on top between a tournament with Evans, Speers, and Bisping....

It's hard to picture Evans or Speers losing though...while Bisping would get owned by these wrestlers
