IMO, Lewis vs Louis is a great fight, Lewis was better in his younger days, before McCall KOd him. He was faster, slimmer, less hesitant.

For real todays heavyweights dont even deserve to be compared to the boxin legends of the past. None of the current HW champs would have made the top 10 in the 70's era.

The Brown Bomber stayed on his game for ELEVEN YEARS and TWENTY FIVE title defenses. Not once did he have a let down. Even giving Lennox the benefit of the doubt, he had two let downs in a much shorter period of time. No other great heavy has succumb to a one punch knockout, let alone two of them. Max Schmeling had to beat a relatively young Louis from pillar to post over the period of several rounds until he went down for good. Louis can break bones when he hits you, as he did to Max in the return bout. Lennox has zero chance of winning.

As for Dempsey-Tyson. What is the blueprint for beating Tyson? Don't be afraid of him and be willing to fight. Jack has both of these qualities in spades. Mike would not be able to handle that type of fighter coming at him from all angles throwing some serious leather. Mike gets tagged and goes on the defensive winging an occasional hail mary punch. After 5 or 6 Mike is out of there.

Also, Louis KO's Lennox with just a little more difficulty than it took for him to get to Abe Simon or Buddy Baer. Lewis didn't have the reflexes to avoid his shots, nor the chin to take them. Louis had too much accuracy, handspeed, and power.

This is coming from a guy who thinks that Lewis was the best heavyweight since Holmes. Bigger is not always better, not when you are dealing with a guy like Louis. The truth is that RJJ would have had a better chance against Joe than Lennox would have.

i would have to say that picking a new guy to win isnt neccesarity wrong. I mean dont get me wrong i am not taking anything away from the old historic boxers but i cant honostly say that I can see Marciano putting up much of a fight against the likes of a bigger strong heavey of today (or atleast the top ones) I cant see a sub 200lb marciano trading shots with tyson, lewis, or vitali. The old guys were great and all but i dont think the heaveyweights back then like wolcott were throwin with the kind of power that the moderns i listed are. When comparign the generations i think you have to talk about each fighter in there respective era to determine there greatness. its like comparing the nfl teams of the first couple years to todays Patriots. guys are just bigger and stronger. But dont get me wrong i love the old generation fighters too (some of my favorites).
