Hey guys!

I have never had a single boxing lesson, so my technique is probably going to be awful. I've tried learning a few things from online videos and that is what I am trying to put into action.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v3lA5lfpjng

By the way, I noticed (and was told) that my 'right handers' weren't fully extending. I think it might have been because I was shadow boxing and had no actual target (i.e. a punchbag), as when I hit the bag my right handers are always fully extended. I will work on that.

I was also told to keep my elbows in more... (Something I didn't notice)

Has anyone else got any advice that I could benefit from?

Thanks.

elbows in
work on footwork-jump rope
steps, while going forward push of the back foot
balance- 80 percent of ur weight on ur back foot
dont choreograph punches
when throwing ur left jab dont drop the right keep that up in front of ur face
dont lean back when u jab ull never land it
hooks not bad
the whole footwork looks way akward though

I felt awkward with the footwork to begin with, but watch the footwork from 32 seconds onwards as I think I managed to clear it up quit a lot.

Thanks for the advice though, I will put it all into practise.

whew, well, my man no lie, you need ALOT ALOT of work.

you look WAAAAY to robotic
no upperbody movement
no head movement
no balance
punches are telegraphed
keep your hands up when you throw punches
tuck your elbows in
crouch down a little bit
balance the weight evenly on both feet
no need to bounce so much
turn the punches over
...to name a few

for never having a boxing lesson before i cant say its bad, cuz i seen much much much worse from dudes that actually box. get to a gym and train hard and i personally think u got some potential, u jus need the right training and technique. keep us posted.

STFU Brown you have no room to speak. Why don't you put a vid up on youtube, then you can talk ****. Well you really gotta work on your footwork man, no need to bounce around so damn much. Your handspeed is terrible as well man. You are pretty good for a guy that's never been in a gym before though or trained.

2k, are your posts always nonsense?

Anyhow, practice makes perfect, concentrate on your form more then speed and power, you have to perfect your form and technique before anything

Try to keep your hands still..I did that too, my trainer got me to keep my hands up and steady using weights (when they are weighted down it takes more energy to bounce them around so you will either tire yourself out or stop bouncing ;), it helped me improve a lot). Remember bouncing expends energy that you'll need later on. :boxing: good luck.
