Whats the smallest oz gloves you can sparr with? 14?

We don't use anything under 14..i've heard of guys using 12 but thats a little risky in my opinion.

Go with 16s

Here in Italy we use 14oz gloves when we spar. Howewer, someone has got even 10oz.

at least 16s, sometimes 18s or 20s. u shouldnt spar with less than 16s imo. 14 at the very very least...

i've seen a few guys get knocked out with 18s. i got my nose busted with 18s. i wish they were like a damn pillow. no reason to get anything less than 16 oz for sparring, dude. some people actually use 20 oz. plus, sparring with heavier gloves will build your strength, stamina, and hand speed.

yeah man i took a good amount of shots one time that i went to the gym really burnt out from getting high after school, and nobody that had come to the gym up to that point could touch me at all. I went in and didn't seem to have my legs under me because i hadn't been going to the gym hardly at all and had just come off a long layoff. Anyways this one 25 year old 6"5 200 pound guy just went nuts trying to take my head off and landed big left hooks over the course of the first 2 rounds and my nose was bleeding badly and my face was beggining to swell. In the 3rd i finally got my wits about me and thoroughly beat him in the 3rd rocking him with a right hand high on the head, but overall he beat me and this was with 18 oz top ten super padded sparring gloves. I just got hit so damn clean over and over and it doesent matter what glove it is it'll do damage. Having open face headgear doesent help.

yeah at my gym 16's are a must for all and some heavies use 18oz. I've yet to be dropped by 16's but i would never go as far to say 16's are pillows, and 18's hurt too when sparring heavies and your a welter.

Its pointless to use anything below 16s in sparring, our Gym doesnt allow it, your sparring to learn, not to hurt your opponent

In Russia 12oz is somewhat of a norm when sparring.
