I'm a huge fan of graphics but Gran Turismo just doesnt interest me.Its quite boring,wish it was more like Need For Speed.

I had a Dreamcast game called Tokyo Drift that looks exactly like the demo game for GT4,but its in real play.

the frame rate issues have been games made for the xbox360 and then just ported to the ps3.....of course there are a lot of good ports for ps3(fifa, figt night, GRAW....), but thats only when the developers take the time to actually optimize the ports....most of them expect them to work fine just lke that....


i have no frame rate issues in ps3 exclusive games loke ratchet and clank, uncharted, folklore, etc....

and aeguably, the 2 best looking games in this generation are for PS3, Uncharted and Gran Turismo Prologue.....amd Unreal Tournament 3 comes out in late december......a PC/PS3 exclusive for some moths....

Actually I had one when they first came out and I sold it to a fellow Boxingscene member before Christmas.I had it preordered a month before it came out.:owned2: If I liked it I would of kept it, well guess which one I choose.

Simply because the handling is about as good as it can get on a console and that the reason racing fans like it, gran turismo 4 was the pinnacle, especially when you did a lap around that 8 miles Nurburing Nordschliefer thingy. It takes about 8 mins 30 on a standard BMW Z3 if you can drive as fast as me, and i trust me, i can drive fast on Gran Turismo. Anyways the game was pure skill, the only thing which let it down was the gay A1, they just hold the racing line and dont block you or let you through or do anything other than crash into you.

In the long term PS3 will be the better console, MSG4, GT5 and Blu Ray will see to that, i like my xbox 360 alot i bought it for PRO 2008, but sooner or later, i know i'll most likely get a PS3, infact, i nearly got one ther other day, but decided to wait a little.

They already came out with a true game-play demo video of Killzone 2 and it did not look exactly like the e3 video, tho it still looked good, but definitely looked like the Xbox 360 could handle flawlessly also. The graphics on the 360 are just as good;shit, have you seen Mass Effect???? That shit is amazing.

People need to realize that Blu Ray discs do not equal better graphics....Blu Ray is just a storage medium....The only reason games on Blu Ray use up more space then games on DVD is because there's no good way to compress data on Blu Ray....Meanwhile you can fit huge ass games like Mass Effect on DVD because of how good the compression is...

PS3 has been the biggest failure since beta, Sony outsmarted themselves, puting the cell into it and not many companies will want to work with it due to it's very complicated nature.
Oh, and marketing wise Sony did absolutely every singe thing wrong, I was amazed by their audacity and they lost billions.

Poor PS3 fanboys, just let me remind you of something, the system is nothing without the great games, and 5 good games are not making the system a success.

Do you know what made ps2 so succesful? The support it gave to smaller independant companies that made great games. Xbox 360 went the same way while PS3 to the smaller ind. companies is the same as Walmart to the mom&pop stores.

They just don't go well together.

As you can see, Wii is a flat out monster....but i think it may actually lose some steam by 2009 and will only get occasional huge boosts everytime a name title comes out...also while the hardware sales are strong, the software sales have been weak for cross-platform games...so pretty much innovative exclusives will have to keep the boat flowing...

360 is very strong in America but is a total bust in Japan...and ps3 has surpassed the 1 year nnumbers of the 360 in the rest of the world...

ps3 still as a strong fan base in japan and rest of the world, its actually only america where it has failed miserably, but still cant be counted out, as the numbers its done in face of the media attack its suffered and sony's screw up in launch pricing and advertising are still inlevel with the 360 numbers in one year...and with games like resistance, uncharted, ratchet and clank and GT Prologue it has vastly improved its library...not to mention that it has the strongest 2008 line up of the 3 consoles....

that could be because they only port the games from xbox to ps3 thats why the third party titles are superior on the xbox360...when they separated teams to work on the game for each console, they have come out good.....in level if not better than 360....call do futy 4 is one example of this......about 4 months ago i wouldve agreed with you, pretty much the oonly games hat looked in level with 360 were reisstance, virtua fighter 5, oblivion and motorstorm(only one cross platform game) and fight night round 3 looked even better than its 360 counterpart, but it can be attributed to the longer time period it was developed in...

none the less now that ps3 has some decent first party titles it has been established theyre practically on par......

First of all, let me clear this up. That red lights of death is your ticket to a new FREE 360 or a FREE repair, they dont just go up and make you buy a new 360 unless you're in void of the warrenty that they just recently extended to 3 years because of the red light problems. So that has really no impact on the sale of a 360. As I can see from the sales chart, 360 is beating PS3 in all areas except for Japan, in which Japan is a sony based country.

On the subject of GT4, they have the ability to amp up the graphics because all they really have to look out for are the car models and some track details. Nothing more than that, how much more innovative can you get in a series that's all about racing? Metal Gear Solid 4 was almost sold to Microsoft because of Konami wanting to expand over to it being multiplatform. As for Killzone 2, the E3 video from back in 2004 looked better than the newly released gameplay footage. Sony keeps trying to revive old series, and hand out the same games you've seen on their platforms in the past, I'm sorry but that only works for Nintendo.

virtua fighter came out months after in 360 and it still looks better in ps3.....fight night looks much better in ps3, but it came out months later too...so that could be it....oblivion looks almost exactly the same in both....360 is losing steam and its 2008 line up is the worst of the lot...hell even its latest releas and the supposedly next big thing mass effect got lower scores than it was supposed to..... edge(pretty much the reviews i trust the most because theyre harsh on both consoles, gave it a 7....when it was expected to at least reach an 8.....ign had to give it a 10 in sound just to give them a high score, otherwise it wouldve been 9.0 or 9.1 and while thats very good for a game, not exactly what you would hope for in the barn burner it was supposed to be...


Calll of Duty 4 is supperior in ps3 according to developers and critics....uncharted and ratchet and clank are right now just behind mario galaxy as the most fun games of this generation...even critics of the ps3 like 1up and n4g gave both games very high scores(n4g the most HARSH critic of teh ps3 behind gamestop who are just plain hatersgave ratchet a 5/5)........

its pretty evident the ps3 is pretty much turning the tide because of its largest world wide fan base...tahts why i think it will win this generation clearly vs the 360 and maybe just barely above the wii(although that is very doubtful)...the ps3 is right there in the war of sales with the wii in japan.....surpassing it for the last 3 weeks...and it has also been surpassing the worldwide sales of 360 for the last few weeks....by the end of 2008 ps3 will be pretty even with 360...because of its big name exclusives like MGS4, GT 5, FFXIII and FFXIII Versus.....which will pretty much make a 360 obsolete in japan and will sell hardware like crazy in japan and europe...like i said the only doubtful territory is america because you guys are more into shooters and that shit, but FF and GT are still big names up there.....

what its pretty evident though its that if the ps3 wins, it will be in an even more precarious place for the next generation, because microsoft will most likely once again head into the next generation with time advantage, and if sony loses part of its fanbase in this generation, it may not be enough to catch up once again if they **** up as badly as they did for like 10 months of this generation...

Even if Sony turned their hardware problem around they art still stuck with the problem of unhappy developers. They forced both Blu-Ray and cell on the devs which in turn not only made it more difficult to develop for but more expensive to. The average PS3 game costs $9.2 million to make meaning that a game would have to sell around 450,000 to 500,000 copies to breakeven, only 2 exclusive titles have managed to do this within a year.

Soon enough devss won’t tolerate this and shift over to Microsoft and Nintendo who have better attachrates/instalment bases leaving the PS3 to linger around kind of like the Saturn did for years which ironically failed due to developers’ difficulty programming on it.

The price for dev kits for developers have been reduced by 50%. There's more incentive now for developers to make games for Sony.

Wii is not getting as many 3rd party developers as many people think. The games aren't selling that well, except for Nintendo in-house games. The console is cheap...and kids and old folks are happy with Wii Sports.

The Blu-Ray disk are important to developers, also. Uncharted game has taken up at least 24gb of space. DVDs can store up to 9gigs only.

yep, yep...because they actually said they put their most talented programmers in ps3.....it has more online capabilities too...so much for psn sucks...

A developer could go nuts with a racing game amping up the visuals for the cars. It has been done for a couple years now, developers boasting about how the models are almost life like. Why? because that's the only thing they have to worry about, the frame rate is not crippled because the only thing being loaded on screen is the small percentage of track visuals and the car models. Seeing those screens demos or not is nothing new or exciting to me, just smoother models with more reflection but I cant say much considering I'm not into racing simulators.

I've never came across a developer that sided with the PSN being a better online service, most of the opinions sway twoards XBL being the top of list. It may cost 50.00$'s a month, but that just gives them the extra cash to give the consumers what they want. This December they're introducing the ablitlity to download XBOX games for around I think it was 1,200 MP's.

i dint sya the developers said it was better, but in that particular game, the online playing is superior according to the developers....psn has been getting better with time...an dthough it may not be as good as live, it certainly doesnt suck......and with home in the way for march :hitit:

Home was suppose to be out by now. I heard they're gonna release a BETA.. Not sure when though....
