View Full Version : Green vs. Drews PPV
brently1979 11-20-2007, 01:52 AM What a joke this PPV is $49.99. For starters this shouldn't even be a PPV fight it should be on FOX Sports, Green isn't a PPV fighter.

This is why we'll never get decent boxing on regular pay TV.

Come on Brently. Its a genuine world title belt. Danny Green is world class. If he can beat Drews. Then he is world class. I think you need to recognize we have a few world class fighters.

Send em an email and give em what for mate - you have quite a way with words. :)
For what it's worth your right this isn't PPV material, it's the same price as Hatton v Mayweather for christs sake. Just a little bit of difference in fighter credentials and class wouldn't you say?
moochi 11-20-2007, 05:30 AM well at least its for a legit belt and a legit opponent.
wasn't mundine fighting cab drivers which were on ppv?
mgkirkpatrick 11-20-2007, 06:48 AM as usual it's way too much but im pretty sure i paid the 50 to see either green v delisle or murdoch.. so i guess i cant complain too much this time

Dude, you really need to look at things in perspective. This fight would be lucky to end up on regular HBO, let alone a PPV. Problem is that people like you think that it's a worthy PPV and actually buy it.
Look maybe I've just become accustom to a higher standard of PPV's and TV from the USA, but dude this isn't a PPV fight.
Why wasn't Kessler vs JC PPV in the USA or UK? Enough said, Green being world class is still under question.

Yeah it is, but it shouldn't be.

Exactly woftam. You get what I'm saying here.

I guess it has to do with the limited boxing we see. And the lack of world class fighters we have. When we get a fighter in a title shot we jump all over it. I will pay the 50. As for Mundine's card, i wouldn't spend $2.50 on it.
But Drews vs Green is a good PPV for our standards. Not for yanks though.

If Main Event heard you talking like that they'd up the price of the PPV's from the states.
Australia is the only country in the world which would have this one PPV.

Why? because people actually buy them.
bloogertag 11-22-2007, 06:39 AM It doesnt matter who mundine or green fight, they always charge fiddy bucks. I love watching these guys fight, so most of the time i feel i dont have a choice. watch the fight and pay fiddy or dont pay fiddy and miss the fight. what would happen if nobody paid? would we get the fights for free? get the fights for a smaller charge? or maybe maybe mundine and green rely on ppv paydays to be able to lure half descent fighters over here, otherwise they wouldnt fight anyone but cab drivers. but on the otherhand, boxing could really take off in australia if all fights were free, because more and more people will get to see the fights and it would create a larger audience. no one wants to pay fiddy dollars to see sum1 fight that they have never seen before.

I'm happy to pay for decent PPV's. But, Greens vs Drews isn't a PPV fight on it's own. I don't care what anyone says. It's the same price to buy the PPV to see the best P4P fighter.
brently1979 11-22-2007, 09:19 PM It keeps getting better & better with PPV down under.

Well I hope the numbers are down on the Mundine fight. No way should that be a PPV fight.
brently1979 11-24-2007, 03:02 AM Mayorga vs Vargas is what a PPV should be like, I don't feel ripped off after buying that card.

i didnt buy it, but i watched it, wasnt to bad actually. I dont rate any of the fighters on the card, but atleast it had action. I thought the guy against cintron was very brave indeed, and i enjoyed watching vargas loose. Wasnt exactly world class, but ill give it the thumbs up for action
