Mech. 11-20-2007, 12:13 AM I think Graduation was the album I gave the most listen to.I thought Icky Thump was their weakest album. I was disappointed with kweli's album too.
I dont think there was anything I really liked in 2007, but I had less time to look for new sh*t too.
I kind of liked New Wave-Against Me. I havent listen to Grinderman -Grinderman but it got a lot of good hype, besides that nothing really stands out for me.
heat27 11-20-2007, 03:09 AM 1.American Gangster
2.Graduation
3.Eardrum
4.Red gone wild
5.Ultimate victory

Tuggers1986 11-20-2007, 04:05 AM As of now i'd say either Graduation (Kanye) or Finding Forever (Common). That's only until Dec 18th though when The Cool (Lupe Fiasco) gets released.
The Fix 11-20-2007, 04:25 AM my top 2 = jesus price and desire.

GOOD KARMA bro! you know ya music!
its all bout my CHI-TOWN boys representin!
Kobe Bryant 11-20-2007, 10:22 AM It's Talib's Ear Drum hands down for me. That album had somethin for everybody. It had great balance without dumbing the lyrics down. It had a nice vibe. And Talib's flow was sick throughout the whole album. And lyrically Kweli brung it.
RHETOЯIC 11-20-2007, 10:59 AM Be was 10x better than Finding Forever.
Finding Forever came off as gay and poppy to me.
I think I enjoyed American Gangster the most. Graduation had some good tracks, but some horrible ones too.
Everything I was looking forward to, disappointed me (except American Gangster).
SouthPawSlugger 11-20-2007, 03:39 PM Kanye's Graduation was a great one. Only track I wasn't too fond of was Barry Bonds...
RAESAAD 11-20-2007, 03:42 PM I really like American Gangster.....I also liked Hip Hop is dead quite a bit....that was this year right?
oldgringo 11-20-2007, 03:42 PM that ugk joint was probably my favorite so far...

I liked Ear Drum and Finding Forever at best. why? Because I can listen to the whole album without skipping. American Gangster was.....ok not even close to the best I would say

I wouldnt consider that an album. I'd consider that a cash grab piece of garbage. But hey, the kiddies like it.

Tuggers1986 11-22-2007, 11:59 AM I've changed my mind. After listening to it again all day I have to say Pharoahe Monch - Desire is by far my favourite album of 2007. I expect that to change on Dec 18th though when The Cool is released.
fasman 11-22-2007, 01:56 PM Ear Drum & Ultimate Victory joint first...
Graduation second....
neils7147933 11-23-2007, 09:02 AM Talib Kweli's Eardrum and Keith Murray's Rap-Murr-Phobia have been the rap albums I've liked the most this year.
Haven't got to listen to Alicia Keys's disc yet but I have it. Waiting on Mary J's; thought Ne-Yo had the album of last year but his follow up wasn't as good.
I actually played T. Pain's Epiphany a lot this year too. Don't tell anyone...(smilie)
sisforshaq 11-27-2007, 06:19 PM I have to say for Hip Hop I was pretty into American Gangster. Odds are because of the fact Jay is my favorite MC doing it right now. I think that was an excellent effort. I have not heard the new Wu Tang, Beanie Sigel or Lupe so I cant comment yet for sure until the year is over.
For alternative/ rock, I was feeling The Black and White Album by the Hives, Icky Thump- The White Stripes, In Rainbows by Radiohead and Year Zero by NIN. I would really have to decide which one I liked best also by years end.
TO Neils- I bumped Pain's album as well.
The Fix 11-27-2007, 11:32 PM i LOVED dirty acres by cunninlynguists....
kellier69 11-29-2007, 12:17 PM american gangster or curtis - 5o cent
MetalVomit 11-30-2007, 06:32 PM anyone know what hip hop albums are still going to be released this year? For me, it's still "Desire". Unless we're talking other genres, in which case "Year Zero"=best album of the year.
Eruthless666 12-03-2007, 05:01 AM 1. Wu-Tang Clan-8 Diagrams
2. Sean Price-Jesus Price Supastar
3. Jay-z American Gangster
4. Ghostface Killah-Big Doe Rehab
5. Pharoahe Monch-Desire
MetalVomit 12-03-2007, 05:33 PM The more I listen to 8 Diagrams, the more I like it.
