I can't picture nobody being able to beat Johnson back in those days. plus, i think that Dempsy put rocks in his gloves. Brunswick Assassin 11-20-2007, 12:34 AM i picked johnson. I can't picture nobody being able to beat Johnson back in those days. plus, i think that Dempsy put rocks in his gloves. This would be a cracking fight! I could see Dempsey KOing Johnson in 5th round. Johnson came from an era where there was incessant clinching and from a pre-punching combination era. Johnson was a lackadaisical fighter and lazy trainer. Five stoppage defeats in 113 fights suggest he didn't have the hardest chin. With Dempsey's viscious in-fighting and murderous hooks, bobbing and weaving would beffudle and ultimately overwhelm Johnson and KO him. I've said before that Johnson had more natural ability than any other pre-World War II Heavyweight by picking out flack mid-air while placing his own blows in same movement. Johnson also had high grade dynamite in both hands and possessed excellent fleet of foot and excellent defence. slicksouthpaw16 11-20-2007, 12:54 AM This would be a cracking fight! Dempsey wins by decision. slicksouthpaw16 11-20-2007, 06:34 AM If 160 lb Stanley Ketchel was able to knock Johnson down, what would Dempsey do to him? Dempsey wins by decision. Huh?? that has nothing to do with nothing. in that fight, Johnson and Ketchel planned for them to have an exibition fight and not really fight. Ketchel cheated and caught Johnson off gaurd with that punch. besides, Johnson came back and scored one of the most brutal knockouts i have ever seen on him. he even had Ketchel's teeth in his gloves. Johnson wins by KO! Mike Tyson77 11-20-2007, 02:00 PM If 160 lb Stanley Ketchel was able to knock Johnson down, what would Dempsey do to him? Dempsey wins by decision.
