Blair_Wells#32 11-13-2007, 03:57 AM My Picks for this weekends UFC PPV, anyone else pick their fighters?

Chris Lyttle .Vs. Thiago Alves-Alves By TKO round 3
Jason Reinhardt .Vs. Joe Louzon-Reinhardt by Choke Round 2.
Luke Caudillo .Vs. Marcus Aurelio-Aurelio by Majority Decision.
Akihiro Gono .Vs. Tamdam McCrory-McCrory by Choke 2nd Round.
Nodogoshi 11-13-2007, 04:45 AM Here's what I got:
Evans-Bisping: Evans KO 2
Silva-Alexander: Alexander KO1 (If Silva can survive the initial onslaught he's got a shot imo)
Herman-Doerkson: This could be a toss up, but I gotta go with my fellow Oregonian. Herman Sub 3
Chonan-Parysian: I got Parysian by UD.
Edgar-Fischer: Fischer KO 2 in what should be an exciting fight.
Lytle-Alves: Lytle by decision
Reinhardt-Lauzon: Reinhardt has apparently built an 18-0 record fighting nothing but cans. I don't think he's prepared for this. Lauzon KO1
Caudillo-Aurillio: If I remember right, Aurillio looked impressive last time out, though in a losing effort. I'll take Aurillio by Sub in 2.
Gono-McCory: My only memory of Gono is him getting KO'd by Hendo. Not alot of shame in that, but I'll take the newcomer McCory by KO in 2.
Geuss I picked a lot of KOs and subs. Wishfull thinking perhaps, guess we'll see.

Anyone else going?
Blair_Wells#32 11-14-2007, 11:40 AM any of u have picks on fight of the night, submission of the night knockout of the night?
KO Of The Night-Houston Alexander vs Thiago Silva gonna tear into each other an gauranteed KO from one of the 2.
Submission Of The Night-Reinhardt vs Lauzon, unless lauson gets the KO lol.
Fight Of The Night-Ryo Chonan Vs Karo Parisyan, karo has just never had a boring fight, sure most go 2 a decision but still an entertaining show.
don't know if i'm missing any other fight bonuses.
peace.

I got Fisher-Edgar for fight of the night. Fisher is always in good fights.
As for KO of the night, Alexander is the clear pick for me considering his recent fights.
Sub of the night, I'll take Ed Herman. He's had some impressive subs, hopefully he'll have another.
MJ406 11-14-2007, 04:41 PM yep Vinnie im going. you know, supporting the new Prudential Center. It'll be good for Newark, and hopefully is a positive thing for the city (the arena). because for those who don't know, the city of Newark has quite a reputation for violence. I dunno how many people here know about what happened this past summer in Newark.
anyway as a whole UFC 78 looks to be one of the better events without a title on the line
these match ups on paper at least seem like they could be exciting (Spencer Fisher vs Frank Edgar and Thiago Silva vs Houston Alexander)
we'll just have to see.

What I've been saying, should be exciting man. Wish I was going but I'd rather wait for UFC to come to canada, those montreal fans are the most wild fans in the world.

i heard newark is getting better. there are supposedly cops at every corner. though im taking the train in cause i am not gonna leave my vehicle in that area.
the tapout crew and keith jardine will be at champs sports in nyc thurs 6-8 times square.
yeah, it should be a good event...most of the fighters are aggressive.
i really hope rashad smashes bisbing
MJ406 11-14-2007, 05:50 PM no im sure by the arena there is a nice police pressence
it said in my local paper (I live in Jersey) that there's gonna be 80 some on foot cops .. so that shouldn't be a problem
MJ406 11-14-2007, 05:58 PM but I still recall 2 or so years back reading about 8 people (teenagers) who all died in shootings/stabbing in Newark
and the oldest of these people was I believe 18. (youngest 15)
just terrible. granted it doesn't relate to the Prudential Center
but its sad reading about a kid who was trying to break up a fight and he dies getting slashed in the throat.
I think it was last month 2 alleged gang members got off for the murder of a police officer because nobody on the scene spotted a shooter
granted it doesn't happen in every part of Newark . .but it still very much happens
and get this .. the Mayor was getting crap for it. how is it his fault? if people want to shoot each other ..they damn well will. some blocks Police don't even go on.
he'll I've had a gun pointed at my car while in Newark.
granted no shots were fired, but all the violence certainly isn't tabloids or over blown by any means.
