I agree the fight before Kimbo's that guy had a big ass cut. I mean that thing was long and deep. Diaz's eye looked messed up more swollen then anything and they should have let him go further to give him a chance.

noons wouldnt have lasted 5 rounds with diaz, the cuts during the gomi fight was worse, gomi broke his face, and yet they let it go and diaz choked him the **** out ! stupid stoppage in a title fight

KJ looked like a pretty good stand up guy and Diaz looked a bit slow but if diaz had more time when he got the takedown at end of round 1 he wouldve pulled it off. Guy couldve finally been champ.

They didn't even give his corner the full minute to work on the cut. It was in a bad spot but it wasn't gushing blood and I'm pretty damn sure he could've continued. It was a ****ty stoppage and a ****ty end to a good fight.

yea it was on the eyelid but like what baserocks said, its not like it was gushin blood, couture's was worst than that.

The cut was very bad IMO.

Diaz would have fought till he dies and referee/doctor is there to prevent that. I'd rather trust a doctor/specialist than risking a fighter carreer.

may have looked bad because the location of the cut but it looked more of a scratch than anything. Diaz didnt want it stopped, the doc just went over to take a "short" look at it, left and stopped the fight without telling or asking Diaz which left him angry and confused.

yeah i think diaz would have won easy if it went any further, he started pressing noons against the fence 2 take him down, and i think diaz looked like the better striker, noons just ducked and swung like a caveman an hoped for the best i don't think he coulda lasted the whole 5 rounds like that.

I'm not one to hate on Noons, I think he's a decent fighter and I said he fought well in a prior post. As I said though, this was a ****ty end to a good fight. I didn't agree with the stoppage, pure and simple. Noone can say what would've happened if the fight continued. Diaz is a good fighter, as he's shown in the past against the likes of Gomi, Lawler, Karo Parizian, etc. and to say otherwise is simply innacurate. I suggest you watch this fight, then try to tell me Diaz isn't any good (Note the guy he fought was concensus #1 at the time, and is still highly regarded as one of the very best):
