An article in the sun herald outlined that Mundine is going to be fighting overseas from now on. Which is really no suprise. It says he wants to go to Wales to fight Calzaghe in his back yard. And other reports are saying he is already in negotiations with Abraham to fight in the US. Also he may fight Pavlik in the US. No one is certain who he is going to fight. But he has outlined that this will be his last fight in Australia come December the 10th, for some time.

Well his up and coming fight will keep him in good shape and help him to prepare for those big names. Don't get me wrong, I still like Christmas, but I don't bother trying to wait up for Santa anymore.

Well hes got the point now Brently mate. I spoke to a guy who was pretty involved in the Mundine camp during the week and he said this before it was in the paper. This is the last fight. Then hes jetting it to Wales for Calzaghe, but the guy said he has a slim chance of getting that fight. So they are going to be fighting overseas. Most likely Abraham for the middleweight title in Germany. Or possibly Pavlik, but thats also unlikely unless team Mundine offer big money.

Yes mate i agree with you the day has come and is here and will soon be gone for him to go overseas. Even though im pissed it didn't happen earlier. Im happy its happening now.

don't want to talk against a fellow aussie..but his first fight overseas will most likely be his last fight too....

as super-talented as he is, it won't help fighting bums and in a way fooling the australian public.

i doubt that he'll get a shot at another champ as he is unrecognised overseas and seeing he refuses to fight legitmate contenders...its too late for him to try and make a name for himself.

ps....he won't fight Abraham as there is no money in it for him as opposed to the big risk.

I think thats exactly the point. Hes going for the risk, he has enough money. I really think were going to see a different career approach. And its well due. Anyway, i have said all i have to. Mainly based on my talks with someone close to the camp this weak and from the paper article. Back to talk about Cotto.

This is the only way he is going to get any respect from australia!!! IMO beating Danny Green did nothing for anthony here people still think green has a shot at beating him in a rematch lol!!! Mundine should fight bute!!! there isnt anyone else in their division worth joes time other then them two!!!

Well said and this is obvious to us, but Anthony isn't really interested in beating big names. He just wants to fight bums, because that's all he ****ing does. Look at Cotto: Judah & Mosley back to back in the same year.

Agreed! Mundine said in 2003 which is over four years ago, yes four years ago that he wanted to go overseas and fight all the Champions and be recognised as one of the best fighters P4P on the planet...... Abraham would be a huge risk for Mundine who I could see probably getting stopped against Abraham in Germany. You gotta knock out German based fighters just to get a draw! Pavlik would be way more dangerous than Abraham who Ko'd both Miranda and Taylor. Pavlik has excellent amateur background who keeps his hands high and once Pavlik gets the one-two going and his combos once Mundine's on the ropes will spell an early end to Mundine's night! Coupled with eye peoblem that hasn't been fully tested in fight situation. I feel Mundine has let too much time elapse to seriously become a universally recognised superstar!

No offence, Mundine is strong for a super middleweight. His power would overcome Abraham quite easily. As for Pavlik im going 50 50. Its not like Mundine is moving up a division. Hes dropping. To me and the rest of the boxers i know, they find that a lot more easier, than going up, well at least when the fight comes around. As long as Anthony can make the weight.

He is a good show at middleweight and i favour him against Abraham by a wide UD or mid stoppage.

When it happens I'll believe it. But until that day, you can live in hope all you want Ult, but I'll remain a realist when it comes to talking about Mundine.

Fair point. You cannot underestimate Abraham champ! This guy has a lot of heart as evidenced by fighting on and beating Edison Miranda with a broken jaw caused by Miranda's dirty tricks. Blood was pouring out his mouth. The one thing in Mundine's favour would be his size as he towered over Soliman who's a real middleweight and beat him convincingly. However Abraham is in a different class to Soliman and can certainly take a hit. Pavlik has an excellent amatuer background whereas Mundine doesn't and tends to keep his hands low which wouldn't be a good idea against a heavy hitter like Pavlik who keeps his hands high cos of amateur background. Mundine should look at fighting Jeff Lacy who's also had a bit of time off so won't be at his peak.

Please remember Mundine looks great against C level fighters, It wouldn't be easy for him fighting at the upper A Class of the sport. I wish bumdine would fight some of these guys.

Its a shame. I think Mundine could match it with them. But he has the total wrong mindset. I read his latest 30 minute interview. He thinks Green is world class and wants to fight him next now, what happened to going overseas? Im litterally sick of mundines BS. He needs to go overseas. No one wants him to fight in OZ anymore.

Last post on Mundine ever.

Can I bet on that?

To be totally honest, I too had high hopes for him, but back in 2003 it was obvious he wasn't ever really going to take any risks and kept fighting bums, I gave up on him being the real deal. I've heard all the BS & excuses and don't care anymore. Kessler was the only world class fighter he really fought, sure he put in a good effort, but it wasn't a warriors effort like he said after the fight.

If Mundine was the real deal, why would he case a rematch with a guy he beat with out a doubt in their first fight, instead of chasing a rematch against a guy who beat him. Because he knows he can beat Green, but knows deep down he can't beat Kessler, because Kessler will be two years better and Mundine will be two years older with only fighting bums.

Please don't bring up the Sam fight, Mundine was so much bigger and stronger than Sam.

All Mundine lovers have to take a hard bite or reality and stop making up the lamest excuses for him.

"He just waiting for this" "He wants to fight Pavlik" "He wants to fight in the states" "No he wants to beat Green because Green will have a belt by then"

**** the list goes on. I hope you're done with Mundine Ult, until he actually proves himself and I will be the first one on this Forum paying respect to him if by some miracle he does.

Mundine could not be put any where near the likes of Rose, Harding, Fenech, Tszyu and all the other great fighters that this country has produced.

Deal with it, he is the most over hyped fighter to come out of this country.

I respect Brently for saying it how it is. I know i said the last post was my last post on Mundine. However this one is. I think its more the fact that he is a family man, is why hes not going to ever take on the best. Scared of getting hurt. And i guess because he is scared of getting hurt, then he isn't the best. (won't post about him again until after the Clavero fight, if the fights boring then never).

My focus is now on Perth. Yeheee

He fights that way. No need to respond to this post Ult, hate to see you go back on your word.

Yeah Perth should be the focus, a much better fight to look forward to. Plus a bit of promotion/comotion for Kool Willie.
